Life Long Friendship
<view this essay>.... I witness daily one of the real joys in life each time I see a patient being comforted by a friend. Someone sitting by the bed, holding a hand, passing time with idle conversation, or just being there, can often be as beneficial to recovery as some of our fancy medicine.
Friendships are strengthened in hospitals. They are watered and fed in our corridors and rooms and in our cafeterias and chapels. We find friends in many ways, but we often solidify our friendships in adversity. During illness we see the real caring and concerns of others. Being present during the adverse times often permanently bonds humans together.
Of course, not everyone can maintai .....

A Passage Of Time
<view this essay>.... the incredible amount of work he had to do over
the next several days. Abruptly, he rose and began walking to the kitchen.
In his own, almost mechanical way, he opened the refrigerator, removed a
drink, carried it to the counter, opened it, removed the tab, placed the
tab in a recycling bag, took one small drink and returned to his waiting
seat in the bedroom. These rituals and set patterns were something that
had always given Bradley a structure in his life, they had always
maintained themselves as an unwavering constant. But most importantly, they
were carried out slowly, and in the current times of speed and fast results,
it was very reassuring to be ab .....

Heilner's "Beneath The Wheel" And Me
<view this essay>.... just a couple of tables away sat Chris. Just as
religiously as I relaxed during the period, Chris would be diligently
working. Chris and I did not have much in common, but one thing we did
share was our Algebra II class that followed the lunch period. Most days
Chris would still be studying while I was on the way out of the cafeteria.
One day in particular, the bell that marks the end of the lunch period had
just rung, and I was heading out for Ms. Henyon's math class. I saw up
ahead of me, Chris frantically flipping through his Algebraic Concepts text
book. I approached Chris and asked: "Did we have any homework we were
supposed to do? .....

............. I have to get out of here." Cried Jesse with a face full of tears.
"Jesse come back here!" Sobbed his grandmother.
Jesse then took off, and he told no one where he was going. So now
there is a grandmother weeping, a nervous rookie cop, and an upset missing
teenager; what is the family to do now. They just lost their dad, and son, and
now his child has taken off. Talk about a nightmare of a morning.
After Jesse took off his grandmother sat there on the couch, clutching
the work shirt of her dead son crying, "Oh Edward, Oh Edward." The cries echoed
through the empty house as the grandmother sat there in tears.
"How .....

What Is Freedom
<view this essay>.... people take it more of a malicious person that has nothing else to do
with his time.
My name is Luis Rivera, also known as "Knightmare" in the
cyberworld. Some people can call me a hacker, others can just call me
smart. I don't prefer being called a hacker due to the fact (of which I
stated earlier) that people, especially business people, make it sound like
a hacker is someone who destroys precious information in which they have
spent so much of their valuable time retrieving. I feel that is just a
bunch of (excuse my vulgarity) crap. I feel people should have the right
to know what they want to know without being accused of breaking and
