Personal Writing: All About Nothing: The Story Of My Life
<view this essay>.... but I might also have gotten my picture in the “
Hillsborough Beacon,” or even in the “Somerset Messenger Gazette,” which, in the
lingo of those in the news paper business, is the ‘big time.' But there is
little point in even mentioning these things, because they have not happened,
and thus, I am left topicless. I could try to fool you with some far out,
totally unbelievable story about how I was in a car wreck involving at least two
dozen cars, including the president's limousine, and how despite having broken
two legs, an arm, in addition to various other body parts too numerous to
mention, I managed to drag myself out of the wrecked car (A job for the Ja .....

The Nasty Restroom
<view this essay>.... bacteria infested. I couldn’t guess what color the toilet seat was supposed to be because it was slimed in filth. A roach scampered out from under the seat and stared at me blankly for a second, only to scurry back to its hiding place. I quickly relieved myself and tiptoed to the sink.
While cleansing my hands, the very sight of the sink made me wonder if using it would clean my hands or only contaminate them more. Globs of traveler’s toothpaste stuck to the cold water handle were teeming with ants, and clumps of hair gripped tightly to the drain. After thoroughly washing my hands under the hot water, I blindly grabbed for a paper towel from the mold cov .....

father will react if he sees that her daughter has painted people from the Bible.
Amina and her family are muslims, that's why her mother can't accept the drawing
Amina brings home. The reason why she doesn't want the father to know is that
he's the dominant one in the family. Maybe the mother is scared that he will
punish Amina, or maybe even the mother, for not bringing up her daughter
properly. Then Amina's mother teaches her to draw patterns from the Koran. Amina
likes to draw the patterns and she is no more confused. Next day at school,
they're all going to draw nice Christmas cards. Amina draws the patterns .....

Creative Writing: Dogs And Cats
<view this essay>.... thought Scampi. Here's
this new cat, obviously fresh out of the bad part of town, no owner, no
home, no nothing, thinking it can roam around like a king.
"There's a chain of command around here!" Scampi snarled.
"Okay, it's over." Mustard sighed and lay down. This was the third
time in a week that they'd failed. He had been around long enough to know
when he was beat.
"No respect. Where's the respect?" Scampi circled the tree in a
haze of anger, his tiny legs beating furiously on the grass. The beagle
could never quite get over a loss. Mustard lay his head on the ground and
watched the passage of time on the street while Scampi vented.
Soon, Roy the Basset .....

Personal Writing: Life Is Short
<view this essay>.... I
never expected what was to happen next.
As we drove down the street, the suspension on the car suddenly
snapped. The car violently jolted to the right and the car was thrown off
the road and onto a hill. The car was inches away from flipping but luckily
no one seemed to be hurt. That experience really changed how I thought of
my life, or so I thought.
The next major experience was during this school year. I went out
to a party one night, and I never expected to get into problems. I had a
little to drink and I guess it clouded my mind so I had a lot more. I
didn't think I was drunk until it was too late. The whole night blacked out
and when I awoke I was in .....

Creative Writing: The Wind In His Sail

followed and prayed on his every move and breath. Cobi Jones was not only very
skilled in the nautical art of sailing, he was the most popular, the best
looking, and even one of the smartest kids in school.
"Hi Julie," moaned Cobi in reply, "what are you doing here?"
A shocked, but smiling Julie answered, "Just came to see ya."
"Well visiting hours are over," Cobi uttered as he pushed past Julie and
trekked up the rocky shore to his home. His home! His home was a picturesque
array of hand-crafted pillars and intricate woodwork that beautified even the
aesthetic sandy ocean beach that encompassed it. As always, after sailing
practis .....

Down On The River
<view this essay>.... rock like a freight train hitting a mountain. The raft buckled under the force, and all of the sudden I was the only one left aboard, because everyone else was thrown out at impact. With my feet still securely anchored, and paddle in hand, I realized that I was in a precarious position as the raft was being thrown around like a rag-doll in the turbulent waters. I felt like a rookie on his first bull-ride, and thought to myself, “I have to act fast”. I did my best to scramble to safety, as I quickly jumped out and headed to the rocky shoreline in the distance. Then and only then, did I realize the grip of death I so narrowly escaped. I was lucky, but I a .....
