Catcher In The Rye - A Sequel
<view this essay>.... you to Loomis Chaffee.
“Loomis Chaffee!” I said, trying to keep my cool. Why and how did you choose
Loomis Chaffee? Then they gave me that same old response. Well Mr.Spencer
teaches at a prep school and. I didn't let them finish the sentence. “NO!” I
exclaimed. I refuse to go to one of those prep schools, all of the little kids
are phonies. But then as abruptly as that little conversation started, it ended.
They said, “You are going come Saturday and you can't do a thing about it.”
So then they say, “We will get you a train ticket for the earliest train
out of Central Station.” I stormed out, knowing that I was defenseless against
them I went straight into my .....

People And Places
<view this essay>.... After a few calls, a friend recommended the "Players Club," which is located close to where I live. Before we got there we noticed something weird about the pool hall. It is located right across from the police station, which is rather unusual for a club. As soon as we walked in, a huge cloud of smoke blinded us. Right away, we noticed that everybody knew each other. It was like a small family. What was more amazing is how everybody blended in so perfectly and how they matched the place like a puzzle.
As we were wandering around, the owner came up to us and welcomed us to his club, noticing that it was our first time there. Now that I have kno .....

Although there is the occasional case when the comments will turn more personally towards me, on the average most people change the topic of the conversation fairly quickly when they are confronted. The regret I had about never standing up for, not just the members of my family, but for any person, or group of people, that is discriminated against, led to a problem I encountered a few years ago during my sophomore year in high school.
My high school is predominantly white, with a few Asians, and very few black students. One of the few black students, Kaasa, happened to be in my phy-ed class during the first semester of my .....

Personal Writing: Response To My Visit To The Boott Cotton Mill
<view this essay>.... Around the back of the mill towards the entrance
it looked like a construction site. So far I was really surprised, I
expected to see something like an industrial plant of today.
Once inside I realized that this was more of a museum than an
industrial plant. The entrance had hardwood floors and was quite modern.
From there I went to the entrance of the Weave Room. The most interesting
part of this exhibit was the pictures and quotations located outside the
Weave Room. Throughout the building, all the pictures with people in them,
nobody had a smile on their face. That solidified the impression I had that
people weren't happy working in the mills. .....

The Real Sucker
<view this essay>.... turned all of his frustrations toward Sucker. Sucker
then treated Pete the way Pete treated him - like a nobody.
Sucker's real name is Richard. He got the name "Sucker" from being so
gullible. One time he jumped off his garage roof with an open umbrella because
Pete told him he would float down to the ground. It turned out all that
happened was Sucker got a busted knee. Sucker was like any child his age. He
talked to himself when he was alone, he would fight off gangsters and also
pretend he was a cowboy. He was a healthy kid but he kept to himself mostly.
When Pete met Maybelle Watts this had an immediate effect on Sucker
because Pete was actually tr .....

Creative Writing: A Day At The Park
<view this essay>.... seem to have the time, nor the money. We decided to splurge and buy
general admission tickets. Well it was about three hours before the game,
and one hour before I got through with work. All of a sudden my phone
rings, and it was my mother-in-law "wondering" if I wanted a couple of
free view box tickets and a parking pass, for that nights Ranger game. I
couldn't have been more excited, much less believe my luck.
After I got off work , and picked up the tickets, I raced home to
get my wife and son ready to go. Over the next half hour, I almost
regretted having to bring my son, what with the hassle of getting the
diaper bag packed , the traffic, a .....

The Old Lady Next Door
<view this essay>.... is completely different all the time. Nothing ever stays the same for more than a week at a time.
When you first walk up to this big heap of metal, you might not even think that it was a car. In fact, you might even be tempted to take the big heap of blue and white trash away to the recycling center. All the paint is falling off; the wheels are made of soft rubber that go flat when you sit in the car. The inside smells like someone died. I don’t even think that she’s ever washed anything in there. When looking inside, you see more garbage than you could ever find in any garbage dump. The seats are all torn up inside, as if she let a wild cat run .....
