E-commerce
<view this essay>.... economic and social logic driving change.
While much of the frenetic growth is fueled by the Internet's obvious capabilities-e-mail, newsgroups, Web sites, and a modest amount of actual market transactions-it remains uncertain what business models and Internet functions will prove most popular and profitable over the long term. Much will depend upon how the new electronic technologies will change existing business practices, market structures, and the social habits of the workplace, marketplace, and home.
Can we discern how electronic commerce adds value to conventional marketplace transactions, making the Internet a preferred venue for business? Will markets .....

Bubonic Plague 2
<view this essay>.... so-called little Ice Age had something to do with it becoming more active than normal (Knox 2). Whatever the reason, we know that the outbreak began there and spread outward. While it did go west, it spread in every direction, and the Asian nations suffered as cruelly as anywhere. In China, for example, the population
dropped from around 125 million to 90 million over the course of the 14 century. The plague moved along the caravan routes toward the West. By 1345 it had made it’s way to the lower Volga River. By early 1347 it was in Constantinople. It hit Alexandria in the autumn of that year, and by spring 1348, a thousand people a day were dying ther .....

Concept Of Species
<view this essay>.... such groups”
However, this is a definition on what happens in nature. Mayr later
amended this definition to include an ecological component;
“..a reproductive community of populations (reproductively isolated from
others) that occupies a specific niche in nature
The BSC is greatly accepted amongst vertebrate zoologists & entomologists.
Two reasons account for this .Firstly these are the groups that the
authors of the BSC worked with. (Mayr is an ornithologist & Dobzhansky has
worked mainly with Drosophila). More importantly Sexual reproduction is
the predominate form of reproduction in these groups. It is not
coincidental that the BSC is less widely used .....

Greenhouse Gases And Consequences
<view this essay>.... form of (invisible) infrared radiation. Infrared rays have a longer wavelength than visible light, and for this reason can be absorbed by certain gases in the atmosphere, labelled greenhouse gases. This absorption of heat warms up the atmosphere, which in turn radiates some of the heat back to the earth.
Greenhouse gases include water vapour, carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4), chloroflurocarbons (CFCs), Ozone (O3), and Nitrous Oxide (N2O).
It all seems very straightforward: greenhouse gases trap the sun's heat, warming the planet sufficiently for life to exist. There is, however, one problem: human activity has dramatically increased the amount of greenhou .....

Computer Illiteracy
<view this essay>.... their handicap.
College is a place to learn. People go to college to expand their knowledge in certain areas which will soon be their careers. But, to the computer illiterate, everyday brings new challenges in the vast, unknown realm of the computer. They ask, “What is this thing called e-mail, and how does it work?” What are they to do when a teacher assigns the students to send in all assignments by e-mail? Eventually, they will have to learn the basics of e-mail which, in turn, reveals even more problems with being computer illiterate. For an essay, the teacher requires that they go to the library to do research. The computer illiterate happily .....

Abortions

For example an unwanted child is a pitiful thing, and the apparent social problems like child neglect, and financial burden that comes with it don’t have easy solutions. On the other hand, the thought of killing a little baby is disgusting and unthinkable.
This is where I stand, and the only solution I can come up with is the total ban of altogether. This task should not be a hard one, but it might take some time. My plan calls for the closing and the illegalizing of abortion clinics, and the prosecution of people who perform these deeds.
As with a .....

Charles Darwin And Richard Owen
<view this essay>.... and was considered lazy and impudent by
teachers. He attended Lancaster Grammar School to pursue a medical career and later entered the University of
Edinburgh medical school in 1824. However, due to the lack of quality in teaching, Owen transferred to Barclay
School, and it was here that John Barclay, an anti-materialist, greatly influenced Owen. Through Barclay's
recommendation of Owen to John Abernathy, President of the Royal College of Surgeons, Owen was granted
membership to the Royal College in 1826. Owen was later appointed assistant in the cataloging of a collection
containing thirteen thousand specimens (known as the Hunterian Collection (R .....

Humpback Whales
<view this essay>.... ranging from white to gray to black to mottled. There are distinctive patches of white on underside of the flukes). These markings are unique to each individual whale, like a fingerprint. The humpback's skin is freqently scarred and may have patches covered with diatoms.
Humpback whales have 14-35 throat grooves that run from the chin to the navel. These grooves allow their throat to expand during the huge intake of water during filter feeding. They have small, round bumps on the front of the head edging the jaws.
Humpbacks have huge, mottled white flippers with rough edges that are up to one-third of its body length; these are the largest flippers o .....
