Hamlet: Character Traits
<view this essay>.... 1
The King is telling Hamlet that death is only natural and that Hamlet's
father lost his father too. He is informing Hamlet that he is mourning
too much for his deceased father and he should try to get over it. Another
example of Hamlet's emotions getting the better of him can be seen when he
is reminiscing his father's death. Hamlet says, "...How stand I then,/That
have father killed, a mother stained,...2". He is asking himself what kind
of a person he is if he can allow his father to be murdered and his mother
to be married so soon after his father's death to his uncle. This shows us
that he is pitying himself and is putting himself down. Yet a .....

The Play "Amadeus" Is Mainly Concerned With The Destructive Nature Of Jealousy
<view this essay>.... caused Salieri to
attempt to kill Mozart by starving him of work and students, and thus,
money and food. If Salieri had not restricted the amount of work actually
shown to the general public, then Mozart could have been wealthy, and quite
possibly selected as the new Kapellmeister.
Mozart doesn't understand the importance of pleasing members of the
Viennese court. He has no comprehension of the value of money, for when he
successfully earns any, he spends it on lavish food and clothes immediately,
instead of saving it. He spends all his time churning out music in final
copy, which, although beautiful, doesn't earn money as would teaching music.
Mozart .....

Shylock also acts villainous towards Launcelot by acting belligerent
towards him.
"Who bids thee call? I do not bid thee call." 2
Shylock mistreats this man because of his poverty, and because Launcelot is
socially beneath him. You also start to wonder about how fair Shylock is,
when Launcelot is deciding whether or not to leave him.
Shylock also mistreats his own daughter, Jessica. He mistreats her
by keeping her as a captive in her own house, not letting her out, and not

Richard III: Strength And Weaknesses
<view this essay>.... relationships.
Foreshadowing played a large part in the plot and audience relations of the play. It was used at many different points in the play to further develop the plot and inform the audience of the events that will transpire. There are many types of foreshadowing in Richard III: soliloquies, dreams, prophecies, and curses. Soliloquies are most commonly given in the firs two acts; such as in the opening Richard addresses the audience and tells them his plan for taking over the kingdom. Other soliloquies keep the audience updated on what’s happening and remind them of Richard’s plans. Prophecies also helped the development of the story. In the fir .....

It is the political pressures from both the Irish Republic and British government that will not allow the people of Northern Ireland to decide amongst themselves on how they wish to be governed. The British government is depicted as a strong-arm force that is determined by any means to maintain its control over Northern Ireland.

Hamlet's Puzzling, Duplicitous Nature
<view this essay>.... and then backing out, several times. Upon this point Hamlet stammers through the play. The reason for this teetering is directly related to his inability to form a solid opinion about role-playing. This difficulty is not present, however, at the start of the play.
In the first act, Hamlet appears to be very straightforward in his actions and inner state. When questioned by Gertrude about his melancholy appearance, Hamlet says, "Seems, madam? Nay it is. I know not 'seems.' (1.2.76). This is to say "I am what I appear to be." Later In Act I, Hamlet makes a clear statement about his state when he commits himself to revenge. In this statement the play makes a .....

Another reason you can relate to Alceste in today's society is his attitude toward the love of his life, Celimene. His devotion to her blinds all the mean and cruel things she does to him. She has other love interests, but Alceste still loves her. No matter what she does to him, Alceste always is at her disposal.
Celimene's flirtatious actions have all of the men bidding for her attention. W .....
