Okonkwo's Exile
<view this essay>.... this happened. But I found out when Okonkwo explained, with watery
eye's, as if he was about to shed tears, which I had never seen him do
before. He explained that his gun had exploded and an iron piece from it
pierced the young man's heart, killing him instantly. Because of this,
Okonkwo had to spend seven years away from Umuofia. I felt tremendously
sorry for Ezeudu's now deceased son, but I felt even more sorry for Okonkwo,
who had killed him unintentionally. That night I went over to his compound
along with some other friend's, and we tried to calm him down, but it was
no use, I had never seen him this upset before. We then helped him pack his
yams, and .....

Finding Aviation In A Boy's Heart
<view this essay>.... from one end of the plane to the other.
The flight attendant said to us, "Welcome aboard the Pan Am 747 to London" while looking at our tickets to point us in the right direction. As I walked down what seemed to be an endless aisle of seats, I noticed a graceful all metal staircase that spiraled into the ceiling. The stairs gave off a feeling that a person has to have privileges to walk them.
When we finally reached our seats, the seat belt signs turned on. I quickly hopped into the window seat and buckled my seatbelt. Soon the soothing voice of a flight attendant was giving instructions over the intercom on emergency procedures. I began to hear the .....

Following A Dream Toward Freedom
<view this essay>.... to know the things they went through to give me the
luxuries I have today. But what if they didn't? What if we were still having to
fight wars for our freedoms? I often wonder what slavery would be like? Looking
in todays society slavery is still the same nightmare it was then. People in
South Africa and Iran wake to this same nightmare everyday. They have no
personal rights or freedoms at all. Everyday they live in fear for their lives.
If its not being threatened by their own government its being threatened by the
lack of food they receive. Imagining the things they go through everday makes me
wonder about my freedoms. Why is it that I can go to my refrigerat .....

instead of melting the chocolate pieces in the batter she just chopped them up
in the batter, thinking they would melt during the cooking process. To her
surprise they stayed very much intact See what happens when you do not follow
the directions?
Well, never the less everyone at the Toll House Inn simply loved them.

Personal Writing: The Cliff
<view this essay>.... 70 degrees. The full moon and
stars brightened the skies and wilderness with a certain glow that the
bright lights of the city somehow always devour. There was no path beyond
the lookout. As we stumbled through the trees, we held our backpacks in the
front of us so the needle written branches of the pine trees didn't smack
us in the face. After a few grueling minutes the trees thinned out to
expose the edge of a 100-foot drop off. I could see to the other side of
the river.
We've decided to lay our sleeping bags down on the edge of the cliff,
it seemed to be the most level surface and the best view. As we looked up
we could see the stars, thousands and .....

Creative Writing: 6 Months Later
<view this essay>.... we wanted, and I told her that we were just here to
find out 'bout the job. After getting a quick overview and job description, I
was ready to work right away. Candy was also lucky enough to get hired as a
nurse for $100 a month. I stepped into the bedroom and I saw about 25 kids
sitting around a middle-aged man, listening to a story. As I stepped in, the
story teller stepped over to me and told me what I had to do. Educate them and
talk to them. That was it. I was getting paid $150 just to teach a group of
handicapped kids. I sat down next to the story teller, Bob, and I looked around
and carefully observed them. As I did this, I could see Lennie's face flas .....

Personal Writing: My First Hockey Match
<view this essay>.... I
nudged my way through the crowd, and began searching for my seat.
The aroma of beer and freshly roasted peanuts from the concession
stands drifted towards me, and intensified my hunger pains. I noticed in
the Dairy Queen booth a heavenly looking vanilla sundae, mounded with plump,
juicy strawberries, and perfectly round indigo blueberries-it made my mouth
salivate, and I knew that I had to taste one. As I edged toward my seat, I
noticed Little Ceasars advertising grease puddled on top pepperoni pizza
and a frothy mug; emersed with crisp cold beer…this teased my temptation.
With only a few dollars left, and my arms filled with delectable treats, I .....

Hopeful Encounter
<view this essay>.... tendrils
farther...until it caught another unsuspecting victim, choking and
engulfing, destroying, leaving just another emtpy shell behind, devoid of
any life.
Night set in, the stars were obscured by thick blankets of smoke. The
day was done. Stores got ready to lock up and street lights were turned on
to aid the bread winners, so they may travel safely. Few were fortunate
enough to own automobiles so they could avoid the cold dangerous streets
and dark alleyways. Most shops were already abandoned, finished for the
day. Yet few doors were still open, desperate for any last minute
customers. One such shopkeeper was Phil Anderson. Anderson had wo .....
