Argument For Keeping Repeat Offenders In Jail
<view this essay>.... with armed robbery and sentenced to 15 years in prison, why should
they be released in five years or less? We must make criminals pay for
their crimes. If individuals are incarcerated for the full length of their
given sentence, I believe that there will be less repeat offenders and an
overall smaller crime rate.
Some say that if we cut down on prison terms we will save loads of
tax money. There will be less need to build, maintain, and expand existing
staff if there are fewer prisoners. But how much more can we cut these
sentences, aren't they short enough already? The average jail sentence is
seven years and eleven months, but the actual average ti .....

Marriage: Try It Before You Chance It
<view this essay>.... but yet saved yourself some sorrow. It’s like a dry run on seeing the differences and equalities, or faults and defaults of living together.
One readily understandable danger of getting married and not having the experience of living with your partner is the question of what life would be like after that knot is tied. For example, your beautiful bride who you love and adore, has a small fetish of spending money. Since you and your bride are united as one in marriage, this means that her fetish problem has now become your problem. This exact situation is known to break 4 out of 10 marriages in the U.S. today. (Los Angeles Times) The last thing any happily m .....

Jesus And Youths In America
<view this essay>.... Republican will tell you that Judeo-Christian ethics are the
foundation upon which the family is based, therefore to help the family why not
foster these religious ideals? (And while we're at it, why not make a
contribution to the two billion dollar tax-free Christian Broadcasting Network?)
The manifest function here of religion is to provide people with a
unifying belief that will scare kids into behaving so they do not go to Hell.
The latent function is that it is a slap in the face to every Easterner who has
conducted themselves in a productive and positive manner. Many of the Christian
right I am sure do not realize how offensive the notio .....

The Rise Of Violent Crime In Canada
<view this essay>.... with the trend of violence in Canada.
This would be true by way of the fact that people are not reporting these crimes
to the police. Generally all the statistics that are gathered and used by the
police are based upon reported crime and no conjecture on unreported crime is
included in these official statistics.
To fully understand what violent crime is, we must first define what
violent crime is in actuality. All to often, people in Canadian society refer to
general wrongdoing as being a crime. A simple example of this is when grocery
stores all raise their prices for certain food products. People then refer very
casually to this act as a crime .....

Violent Behavior In Society
<view this essay>.... not only accepted by society
but also in many ways glorified? Do we glorify boxing (most of the time bloody
shows) because it is entertaining, or maybe because it is a multi-milion dollar
business? The scenery of boxing is broken bones, black and blue faces,
blood...The more severe the fight the more exited and happy the audience seems
to be. Violence simply stimulates people. Big glory comes when one passes out!
YES...here is the hero! What is the message here? It is, we will like you
more since you are physically stronger, and we will respect you because we are
afraid of you. That is again, a wrong message.
Violence is glorified the most throught .....

Woman's Struggle For Independence
<view this essay>.... as lesser beings, who's role in society was to
give birth and to take care of children. They were property of there husbands
and not viewed as individuals. There husband was there master and women we
practically slaves and was often mistreated by there husband. A servant to the
male sex.
During the middle ages women still has almost no rights. They still didn't
have the right to voice there opinion and were still viewed as property. If they
disobeyed there male role model they were punished. The art of the Renaissance
gave women some freedom to voice there opinion about the arts and social issues
as long as there opinions weren't very radical. Howeve .....

Animosity In Children's Sports
<view this essay>.... hand, come with the children, and these parents often act in
a disdainful manner towards the other team. Insufficient enforcement of
the rules against unsportsmanlike conduct by the parents often causes this
improper behavior to continue. In professional sports, fans who get out of
control often buy themselves an escorted walk out of the stadium.
Likewise, coaches and players also have consequences for acting
inappropriately. Coaches are subjected to game ejections or ineligibility
to return as a coach the following year. Players hold the responsibility
to behave appropriately also, and may face a game suspension and other
penalties. Parents often clai .....

Our Prison System Sucks
<view this essay>.... a strict camp. I have personally talked
to some people who had gotten out of prison a few weeks prior to our talk, and
they where telling me how they learned how to make certain crafts, learn how to
sow, and many other things. To me, that sounds awfully like a camp I was made to
go to when I was young. Some people in prison even have television, others
treat it like a hotel. This disgusts me! This doesn't sound at all like a
prison. A prison is a place where people are supposed to be punished. Not
treated like guests. There is a fin line between being punished and being over
punished however. I'm not saying that each person should be beaten daily, or
ma .....
