<view this essay>.... and sexism.
When the issue of affirmative action rises, the first thing that comes to mind is blacks. Being black myself, it's only logical that I would be concerned about this issuoe and for my race. In roaming the internet and reading about affirmative action, there is one case that I feel displays why affiramtive action is so needed in the work place. There was a case in 1975 concerning 28 of the local Sheet Metal Workers' International Assoc. The association had been discriminating against black workers. They adopted discriminating admission criteria, restricted the size of memebership and organized shops with very few minority workers. In reaction .....

Protection From Abuse And Neglect
<view this essay>.... the prevention of abuse and the
treatment of victim".
The purpose of the new state-wide small scale association is to inform
children through first-hand knowledge and example on the protection from abuse
and neglect. The substantive right is very important for children to know and
understand in case they, or someone they know is ever involved in an abusive
situation. The small scale association is limited to children so they can feel
free to express their experiences and ask questions openly to others without
having to worry about adult supervision. This may interest children to comment
on situations and on general conversation that they normally wo .....

Rhode Island, Kansas, Illinois, and Indiana.) Most of this activity was
stimulated by the passage of the Missing Children Act in October 1982. What
the new law did was to legitimize the use of the FBI's national computer
network, the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) for non-criminal
purposes.
All of the programs are voluntary. In some cases the police
departments retain the records, while in others the fingerprint cards are

I did not realize how fortunate I am to have healthy legs. As I was walking with the walker toward the cafeteria, things started brutal. My hands and legs started hurting and getting sore. It usually would only take me about 2-3 minutes to get to the cafeteria from the Academic Building, but instead, it took me about 15 minutes with the walker. People were kind enough, however, to open the doors for my partner and I.
As we entered the cafeteria, I noticed people looking at us sympathetically and some very arrogantly. .....

The Clinton Sex Scandal
<view this essay>.... journalists, radio personalities, televised news reports and now,
even more menacing: the Internet.
Presidents who are constantly reminded of their power and prestigious rank,
become exasperated because they cannot control the news media, even though
they can to a large degree set the news agenda. Media has expanded in its
presence, becoming widespread on the Internet, perhaps monopolizing the
domain, by becoming more powerful and more used than written, televised or
radio journalism. The Presidents' inability to control the press exposes
their vulnerability and tends to question the actual power they can
actually exert. All presidents, at some time .....
