some even sleep in them.
During the Succot festival, thanks are given for all growing plants by using

the Jewish people. The Etrog, or the citrus fruit, stands for the people who are

The Bible And If God Exists
<view this essay>.... personal experience and reliable facts that I simply will not believe it unless very definitive proof is provided. Of course, if I visit someone's pet fish and it talks to me, I am still wiser to test the possibilities of trickery or insanity before believing it can talk. But if I found many fish that talked, trustworthy people confirmed it, scientists published carefully researched papers about them, and newspaper headlines read "INCREDIBLE DISCOVERY: TALKING FISH!" then it would be more than reasonable to believe they existed. No one really disputes such common sense, until it is applied to religion.
I've never seen or talked to a god, or seen a god do any .....

An Essay For Humanities Courses: The Bible
<view this essay>.... fact
that Mark was trying to author a "readable" story for people, rather than a book
of facts. The best example would be in Mark 10:17-31 (Jesus Counsel to the
Rich) & (Parable of The Camel and the Eye of a Needle). It is doubtful that
these things happened at the same time; however, they are GREY in The Five
Gospels anyway ... and probably didn't happen as Mark describes. This brings us
to Mark's writing style.
Mark seems to "tack-on" sentences to Jesus' teachings to make them more
"Christian." This really changes the meaning more than any other tactic! Who
knows what Mark may have edited-out to accomplish what he wanted to impress upon
his read .....

Genesis As Myth: Different Views
<view this essay>.... the bible was true and we weren’t able to argue with it’s readings. We feel that the importance of the myth is more likely to be less probable. This German theologian believed that communica¬ tion has an important role in myth’s throughout the bible. I believe that all mythological systems that recur in stories, oc¬ cur in many different versions. He stated that “man is created in Genesis, and then he created all over again. And, as if two first men were not enough, we also have Noah in chapter eight.” A quote from the bible that states “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end, saith the Lord.” The German Theologian says that “God against .....

Who Is The Christ Of First Corinthians?
<view this essay>.... members of the community. For during this time, knowledge generally meant power. Not all people had access to this knowledge though. Only the rich or nobly born were able to spend the time learning. However, they were spending time learning the wrong information.
The rulers of the time had spent their entire life learning how to control others so as to increase their personal wealth. They had been consumed by their lust for greed and power. When Jesus Christ came proclaiming the word of God, he was branded a fool by these so called "wise men." Throughout his life, these people attempted to discredit all of his work and teachings. Eventually, he was ta .....

The Truth About Physics And Religion
<view this essay>.... and that there is no division
between physics and religion. I will also prove that the misunderstanding lies
in the parables of religion and in the statements made by physicists.
Furthermore, I will show that only physicists can really know the truth of
physics, and only religious followers can know the truth of that religion;
everyone else has to take it on faith.
Many people believe that physics and religion are entirely separate.
They claim that physics is only concerned with discovering what is true or false,
while religion is concerned with what is good or evil. Scientists appear to
agree that “physics is the manner in which we argue about the .....

Religion, a feudal system of government which uses fear, hate and sometimes
lies to control and manipulate people for the betterment of a select group of
individuals.
To better illustrate this point let's look at just three of the
countless examples that human history has to offer. The Inquisition, "judicial
institution, established by the papacy in the Middle Ages, charged with seeking
out, trying, and sentencing people guilty of heresy."2 Heretics were
considered enemies of the state. The penalty for heresy was torture and death.

The Rise And Down Fall Of Major Beliefs
<view this essay>.... was an important part to the American Revolution. He was the one
that wrote the Declaration of Independence. Both of these beliefs have
many differences and they also have some similarities.
Both of the beliefs have different ideas on god and religion.
Deism is not a religion and believe that god is an observer. They do not
believe in providence. They also denounce the church. Thomas Paine
believed that the mind is the church. Deists also believed that the bible
was hearsay. Thomas Paine thought that a revelation could only effect the
person that it was directed to because after that the people that listen to
the revelation have the right not t .....
