No Thanks, I'll Take Real Music
<view this essay>.... I always hear how cute they look
but never how talented they are.
The music that these bands produce is very main stream. You will
never hear them sing about a controversial topic. If the bands did write
and sing music about these topics, they would expand their range of
listeners but they would also loose the nice clean cut image. I don't
think that any of these bands have to struggle because before you know it
these feel good-happy music groups are popping up everywhere.
What should they do? When most bands start playing they go through
many years of building a fan following. That's the problem with these
groups. Playing with instruments would .....

2 Face Hip Hop

A few underground artists have moved up mainstream music. The reason being is for (fame and money). Not for the love of it anymore. A person who has won the Scribble Jam back in 97, he is a well respected person. Now, he lost respect from many people. Reason of this was because he was asked how he felt about being an unknown artist into an artist who is well-known. He replied, “I know I lost respect. But I had to raise my daughter. I didn’t go to high school a .....

Music And Censorship
<view this essay>.... Once the musicians realize that people want not just their music but them as well, they act as gods, which no one can touch. For example, think of it like a secret dictatorship, and we breathe as a fascist society, which puts fun and feelings above the Lord, above all. Many of the musicians consist of non-religious people who live only for fun and only for themselves. Why then would we, especially as Christians, put our total devotion in them? It exists like wanting to ride with a blind driver rather than one with perfect vision. In addition many of the musicians use drugs and stimulants to satisfy their hunger for themselves and for pure fun. The music .....

Jazz
<view this essay>.... types of music,
and it has always influenced the ways people involved in jazz compose or
perform. It has also brought out many famous people.
Although jazz is not the most influencing music currently in the
nation, its history proves that it is a great form of music with many
origins, a multigenerational life span, numerous styles, many legendary
musicians, and its own creative, independent interpretation.
Jazz is over 100 years old, probably making it one of the longest,
lasting forms of music so far. Jazz was not created by Europeans, it was
created by Afro-Americans who descended from ancestors in Africa. These
Afro-Americans learned how to pla .....

the dream that kids have growing up in the hood. Those kids dream of getting
rich at a young age and living like a true "player" for the rest of their
day's. They want to drive around in a benz' and have girls fill the whole
thing. What these kids don't understand is that Too Short didn't get to where
he is by pimping or selling drugs, he got to where he is by some simple rules
discussed in his song "Gettin it".
First of all, an important ingredient to the song is how it appeals to
kids. With it's ghetto beat and monster bass the song is something that kids
feel cool listening to. This is his first success ingredient, getting the
atte .....

The Difference Between Punk And Ska
<view this essay>.... A ska band will usually have a bass guitar, one or two guitars, drums, saxophones, trombones, and trumpets. It may sound very strange, but it sounds good all put together.
Not only are some of the instruments different, but the ones that are the same are played differently. There are differences in sound effects, methods of playing, and beat. Punk will use a lot of distortion, but not a lot of other effects like flangers and wahs. It is fairly easy to hear what they are playing. Although ska doesn’t really use distortion, they do use a sound gate that makes their guitar sound very snappy. Ska also uses a lot of unusual effects just for fun.
Punk bands have .....
