Capital Punishment: Against
<view this essay>.... are these people so well formed in their mental states that prevents
them from making unwise decisions as far as to destroy or take another
human beings life since that human being made a terrible decision?
There are certain ideals that go along with this situation. Life
is suppose to be the one thing that was given to human beings by God or a
supreme being other then ourselves. If a human being were to take another
human being's life then the aggressor would have to go on trial that would
let him be judged by a group of his peers. Upon the verdict of guilt in
taking the other human being's life the group of peers will now have to
decide that p .....

Marijuana: Persuasive Essay
<view this essay>.... the treatment in terminal illnesses.
The state law proposition 215 which says, that pot is legal to smoke if
you are using it for medical reasons in terminally ill cases. This proposition
was on the November ballot and was voted into effect. The federal law that was
put into effect no to long ago, states that using marijuana for any reason
including medical reasons is illegal. This law was put into effect by the
president Bill Clintion. I feel that the law enforcers in California should
ignore the federal law or appeal it in court.
There is another drug that is illegal to use in any way but for medical
reasons. That drug is morphine, it is .....

The Drinking Age: 21 For Everyone?
<view this essay>.... to persons under 21 years of age will help stem the
"problem" of underage consumption. They believe this will make it virtually
impossible for people under 21 to obtain alcohol. The opposition also believes
that the laws against underage consumption of alcoholic beverages will dissuade
young people from drinking alcohol.
The laws that prohibit merchants from selling alcohol to persons under
21 are hard to enforce. Even if they are enforced by the authorities, the
establishment that breaks that law is rarely punished severely. For example, in
Belmont County in Ohio, the police conducted raids of 5-10 different
establishments in 1993 that had liquor .....

Capital Punishment: For And Against
<view this essay>.... Within that framework, an argument for capital punishment can be
formulated along the following lines: some acts are so vile and so destructive
of community that they invalidate the right of the perpetrator to membership and
even to life. A community founded on moral principles has certain requirements.
The right to belong to a community is not unconditional. The privilege of living
and pursuing the good life in society is not absolute. It may be negated by
behavior that undermines the nature of a moral community. The essential basis on
which community is built requires each citizen to honor the rightful claims of
others. The utter and deliberate .....

Crime - A Game You Can’t Win
<view this essay>.... society to protect innocent people. Florida incarcerated a total of 66,280 criminals in 1998(Orlando Sentinel). According to the Council on Crime in America, incarcerating one criminal in state prison for one year can prevent as many as 21 crimes (Swanson, 342). It can be argued that the “Three Strikes” law stops repeat violent offenders with the threat of longer sentences after each conviction. In agreement with the need for imposed jail terms, allowing three individual convictions to increase the sentence is a mockery of the judicial system. The “Three Strikes” law represents a faltering attempt at punishing violent criminals.
“We have increased the .....

Capital Punishment: Right Or Wrong?
<view this essay>.... that man is a killer. Well who gave that killer the right to take another mans life? By executing a murderer, justice is being served. By not punishing these murderers with the harshest punishment, we are pretty much telling them to go ahead and kill people, because there will be no real penalty for it. Which brings me to next point, if a potential murderer knows that if he is found guilty of murder, he himself will be killed, then he is less likely to commit the crime. The saying, “eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth” comes into play here. For example, New York State has a “zero tolerance” policy for murderers. Since this policy went into effect, the mu .....

(C) To encourage the federal and state governments to implement a plan for the safe and affordable distribution of marijuana to all patients in medical need of marijuana. (Proposition 215 Section 11362.5)
Of course, it goes on and breaks into fine detail into which I choose not to venture. To summarize it all, if you're sick, or think yo .....
