Legalize It!
<view this essay>.... to the problem and our responses to the attacks
against the legalization of marijuana.
Although, legalization will increase use of the drug. However, many
supporters of continuing the illegalization of drugs believe that by legalizing
drugs they will become more accessible and use will therefore increase. They
base this argument on past experiment dealing with alcohol prohibition. After
the end of prohibition with the 21st amendment, alcohol consumption doubled
while prohibition decreased use by 50 percent(Light). They also cite that use
of marijuana peaked in 1979 when there was a decriminalization of drug use by
eleven states. When researching to f .....

Serial Killers And Society

thirty-four people, was charged for only three under his own defense-
and in fact, he was commended by the judge for his own defense. He was
put to death.
With the combination of a very powerful media and a society
fascinated with gruesome, sadistic crimes, modern serial killers have
been put in the spotlight. We are enraptured with serial killers so
much, that we pay seven dollars to go see a movie where everyone
except the bad guys gets strangled, mutilated, or shot- and enjoy it
in some sick way. The med .....

Our Prison System Sucks
<view this essay>.... strict camp.
I have personally talked to some people who had gotten out of prison a few
weeks prior to our talk, and they where telling me how they learned how to
make certain crafts, learn how to sow, and many other things. To me, that
sounds awfully like a camp I was made to go to when I was young. Some
people in prison even have television, others treat it like a hotel. This
disgusts me! This doesn't sound at all like a prison. A prison is a place
where people are supposed to be punished. Not treated like guests. There
is a fin line between being punished and being over punished however. I'm
not saying that each person should be beaten daily, or made .....

once a week you are allowed to leave this room to take a shower. Your days are

ordinary room, you're in a cell on death row. A cell reserved for people who
were sentenced to death for committing a crime. Death could be by firing squad,
lethel injection, the gas chamber or electric chair. Chances are you've been in
this room for many years and will be for many more. Your lawyers have began the
lenghthly appeal process. Once all the appeals have failed, it soon is time,

Efficiency And Effectiveness Of Our Criminal Court System
<view this essay>.... responses with how the accused pleas, if it is "not guilty",
the court clerk asks how the Crown lawyer wishes to proceed and so forth.
However, this is not so in the Ontario Supreme Court (Trial Division),
though similar in methodical procedures, the court cases are longer and
much more time is spent on each individual part of the case, from
presenting the evidence to cross-examination of the witness, this is
because of the amount of information involved.
The general atmosphere and behaviour in the Provincial Courtrooms were
general loose and calm. The people, lawyers, judge, clerk and recorder
seem to know each other very well. They joked openly, ev .....

Death Penalty
<view this essay>.... three most common death penalties are the gas
chamber, lethal injection, and the electric chair. Capital punishment has become
an increasingly controversial issue over many decades. The problem lies between,
is the death penalty being accepted in murder cases or ruled out completely.
While some people feel that Capital Punishment will not discourage crime,
Capital punishment should be legalized in all states, because it is morally just
and it will deter crime.
The many opponents of capital punishment who are against it feel that the death
penalty is not a deterrent and that it is barbariaertic of the past. It has no
place in a civilized society today. One of the .....
