The Crucible: Issues
<view this essay>.... I got from reading this play and be able to understand them better.
While reading The Crucible I personally felt a strong insecurity within the religion of the people of Salem. To them, God seemed almost as a scapegoat. Or someone to blame their actions for or to supposedly listen to answers for. Now I believe in God and I feel that religion can be an important part of anyones life, but these people took it to the maximum and kept on going. God was these peoples life. Beyond that was the endless void of the world that they hadnt experienced. Personally I feel that many of the people in this play had an inner sense of shame and guilt among them but nobody cou .....

Transcendentalism 3
<view this essay>.... and unlike any European style, transcendentalism was a way to achieve literary independence. Writers, poets, and musicians alike wanted to develop a style that all could call “American.” Spawned from the writings of the era, the other aspect of this theory is that it existed as a form of religion and spirituality. Social reform later grew from these beliefs, such as anti-slavery and women’s rights movements. So, what set off these changes in our society? Many trace the roots of these events back to the chief writers of the period. Transcendentalists like Ralph Waldo Emerson and Henry David Thoreau preached beliefs in self-reliance .....

Filial Piety
<view this essay>.... and (the stem) out of which grows (all moral) teaching. Sit down again, and I will explain the subject to you. Our bodies—to every hair and bit of skin—are received by us from our parents, and we must not presume to injure or wound them. This is the beginning of filial piety. When we have established our character by the practice of the (filial) course, so as to make our name famous in future ages and thereby glorify our parents, this is the end of filial piety. It commences with the service of parents; it proceeds to the service of the ruler; it is completed by the establishment of character.

Essay On Flowers And Shadows
<view this essay>.... the fall of
Jonan's wealth and power. So who's vengeful plot brought him out of the shadows,
where his controlled madness might have fooled the likes of Jonan for a while,
but the latter's paranoia finally caught on and killed Sowho and itself;
putting a rest the destruction and curse laid upon the poor factory workers and
opening a broad new scale of possibilities that might (in long terms) help tip
the edge of demeaning business ethics in the Nigerian society.
Anyone who read Macbeth would agree that it's quite parallel to Flowers
& Shadows. Even thought the books where written by two different authors at
different time periods; the depicted m .....

Diary Of Anne Frank
<view this essay>.... important part of the play were the people who were acted out. They gave the play a sense of flavor and realism. Anne, a young German girl was particularly amusing because of the scuffles she and everyone around her seemed to have. Anne's Mother was a woman who was more traditional than anything else and wanted Anne to be more like a lady. One such person was Margot. As Anne's sister, she was very nice and didn't speak out and was very proper. The Frank's weren't the only ones in this attic, there were other people such as the Van Daans. Anthem Essay
<view this essay>.... It is based on the principles of solidarity. Outside of the mandated one, no other thought processes are allowed. People are assigned jobs to which they cannot protest, removing the luxury of choosing an enjoyable job. Individuals are not allowed personal goals, rather the good of the entire society is the collective goal.
People in this society do not work towards their own happiness. They work only for what is taught to be the common happiness. True pleasures of life are not allowed. Since they do not see personal benefits and fulfillment from their work, they lack enthusiasm and personal initiative. It is as though everybody has been brainwashed to on .....
