Literary Essay - Dead Poets So
<view this essay>.... of the largest “offenders” when it comes to conformity, and that point is illustrated repeatedly in the film Dead Poets Society. At Wellton, students of all walks of life are expected to learn the same lessons the same ways. They are expected to memorize the important facts and regurgitate the same facts during exams. Latin class involves recitation, while chemistry involves memorization, and as long as the students can deliver what they have been told, they are successful in life.
The new English teacher, Mr. Keating, challenges his students to think for themselves and to resist conformity. He most memorably illustrates how easily conformity affec .....

Justice Vs. Rage In Hamlet
<view this essay>.... in his oration on Hecuba, Hamlet realizes that he is not properly incensed over the pernicious actions of his uncle. He resolves to forget his cause no longer and hatches a plot to test Claudius's guilt through a dramatic presentation of murder. However, that Hamlet feels the need for such a test further indicates the lack of impetus from his mission's righteousness alone. Hamlet's introspective and skeptical character leads him to question the validity of the ghost's charge, and even the trustworthiness of the ghost itself. Even after Claudius reveals his guilt, justice lacks sufficient force to motivate Hamlet. When he finds Claudius alone in his .....

book's title, "the stranger". While this behavior can be seen as a
negative trait, there is a young woman who seems to want to have a
relationship with Meursault and a neighbor who wants friendship.
He seems content to be indifferent, possibly protected from pain by

the vigil, watching over his mother's dead body, and at her
funeral, he never cries. He is, further, depicted enjoying a cup

The Common Man represents us. He is as relevant in the times of the play as he is now. He is typical of us and just wants enough money to get by with, without getting into dangerous situations. He also shows how we will manipulate a situation to suit our own needs and wants.
The Common Man shows self-interest on a small scale. Take for example when More is using the Common Man's boat and the issue of payment comes up. He asks More to 'make it worth his while". This shows us how most would act in the same situ .....
