Since coming to Australia the Vo family has been very fortunate. As well as getting away from their communist county to a free one, Toan experiences success in school and later on as an actor. Vo Kin Tueyt believes that in order to restore the balance of good and evil something bad will happen, "good and evil, light and dark". Near the end of the novel something bad does happen, Linh and Miro are involved in a car accident while being chased by gang member. They end up in hospital .....

.... As they walk down a lane on Sunday that would usually be crowded with merchants and children during the week, Enfield points out an old building without many windows, and only a basement door. Enfield tells a story of how, one night at about 3:00 am, he saw a strange, deformed man round the corner and bump into a young girl. The strange man did not stop but simply walked right over the young girl, who cried out in terror. Enfield rushed over and attended the girl along with her family. Still, the strange man carried on, so Enfield chased him down and urged him back. A doctor was called and Enfield and the doctor felt an odd hatred of the man, warning the man .....

.... Farm tells the story of the Bolshevik revolution in Russia, but from a viewpoint slightly more comical: that of a farm in England. The story begins in a barn, where a boar on the farm named Old Major has gathered the other animals to tell them of a dream he had, a dream of a world in which humans do not rule over other animals. Old Major encourages the animals of the farm to revolt against Mr. Jones, the owner of the farm. Not long after, he dies, but the animals keep his ideas of Animalism (which is essentially Communism) alive and the pigs, who are the most clever animals on the farm, begin to plan a revolution. One day, the workers on the farm forget to feed .....

All the congregational members can do is sit and whisper among themselves and try and figure out what Mr. Hooper is trying to accomplish by having this covering on half of his face. What they really don't know is that Mr. Hooper has this veil on half of his face because he is trying to hide his secret sin. He doesn't want to look the world with his face because he doesn't want them to see him and look in his eyes and be able to tell that he is hiding something that he doesn't want anyone to know about. Even his fiancé tries to get him to remove the .....

Dmitri did not love his spouse and therefore did not appreciate nor respect her. This was demonstrated through his unfaithfulness. His wife both carried and raised their children and therefore .....

This fate also represents the national destiny of Rome. Aeneas looks towards the future, towards Rome’s power over the known world. In the same way that the Promised Land was guaranteed to the Hebrews in the Old Testament, the Trojans’ Promised Land was guaranteed by fate. History is the guarantor.
