The Odyssey
<view this essay>.... and faithful wife who deserves to be happy again after waiting twenty long years for Lord Odysseus, her love.
Penelope is a very loyal woman, she continues to show this throughout the book. She does everything she can just so she won't have to remarry. Penelope asks that the Akhians let her finish her weaving, and if by the time she is finished and Odysseus hasn't returned, then she will be forced to choose another husband. Penelope worked on it during the day, but secretly at night she would unravel everything she did during the day. Her plan worked, until the Akhaians caught her and forced her to finish it. She was extremely crushed, and disappointed .....

Frost
<view this essay>.... that makes him the man who he is.
In the first stanza, the narrator says, “And sorry I could not travel both...” This quote is plainly explaining how difficult is it to make a decision because it is impossible not to wonder about the opportunity cost; what the decision maker will miss out on. There is a strong sense of regret before the choice is even made and it lies in the knowledge that in one lifetime, it is impossible to travel down every path. In an attempt to make a decision, the traveler “looks down one as far as I could”. The road that will be chosen leads to the unknown, as does any choice in life. As much as he may strain his eyes to see as far .....

A Pair Of Tickets
<view this essay>.... time was probably spent with her friends at school. She learned from American people and lived in an American society, therefore she felt like she was an American and no one could tell her otherwise.
Jing mei had a totally different perception about China before her visit. She imagined China to be not so Americanized. Jing mei saw China as a Communist country. She envisioned a poor country containing small villages, with people who would not have the slightest idea of what it felt like to have the same luxuries that many Americans are fortunate to have. She later found out that she was totally wrong.
Right from the beginning she was surprised as she arrived .....

The Rift Wars
<view this essay>.... Members of each race began to stage guerilla raids on the other. Finally, the elves and dwarves declared an all-out war.
The elves, armed with powerful magic, reduced the fortresses of the dwarves to rubble. Their skilled archers also decimated the dwarven offense in the forest. Defeat for the dwarven army seemed certain, but the dwarves were not to be easily beaten. Exploiting the blustery winds of the Rift, the dwarves lit and burned large tracts of woods. Either to avenge the burning forest or to escape the mounting flames, the elves poured out of the woods
in droves. As they emerged from the flaming trees, half blinded by hot ash and choking smoke, the dw .....

Demeter And Persephone: Relationship Between Parent And Child
<view this essay>.... of Greek society at that time.
In order to please his brother Hades, Zeus tells him that he can go
and take his daughter Persephone to be his wife. While Persephone was
playing with her friends in the beautiful outdoors picking flowers, she was
kidnapped by Hades and taken to the underworld. It would seem to the
ancient Greeks that it was a mans world and Father knew best. Without
consulting Demeter about his brother marrying their daughter, Zeus just
gave her away. Worst of all he did not ask Persephone how she felt about
this whole arrangement. It was as if children were the possessions of
their parents and had no say in their future pla .....

Fuch's "The American Way Of Families": Is The Dream Really As Sweet As Apple Pie?
<view this essay>.... premise of human existence is satisfying yourself; at every
level down to your basic foundation. We fight to make our own lives better at
times even at the cost of others. This holds true in almost every arena of
society that I tried to imagine after reading Fuch's essay. The only area of
life that this struggle to satisfy yourself above and beyond all does not
pertain in my opinion is religion: it is impossible to worship a being and try
to overcome that being at the same time. Whether it involves fighting to be on
top in the workplace or playing dirty to win a sporting event; almost all
Americans have the fire burning within them that compels them to re .....

The Mystery That Was Gatsby, T
<view this essay>.... precision. Though other characters play roles subordinate to Gatsby’s the details that surround their lives as they relate to the story are defined and clear, at least more defined and clear than with Gatsby. This obscurity adds to the reader’s curiosity about Gatsby’s life, to the eccentric wonder that was his personality, and to the bewilderment that succeeded his death.
Gatsby is the rich, majestic, protagonist of the novel. While it isn't clear how he made all his money it is obvious that it was through illegal dealings in organized crime. There was a reference to the 1919 World Series, (That's the one where the players on the

Analysis Of Do Not Go Gentle I
<view this essay>.... not go gentile into that good night" which right away indicates that the poet is referring to not taking death lying down. The reader is given a sense of growing old. In the first stanza of the poem describe old age, "Old age should burn and rave at close of day" As you get old there is a daily struggle against death; you should fight for your life and take it day by day. In the second stanza the poet says "Though wise men at their end know dark is right, because their words had forked no lighting they don not go gentile into that good night" I thin what the poet is trying to say is even though you’re getting older and you know the time is coming you haven’t sh .....
