Personal Writing: Fragment - Changes In Life
<view this essay>.... mainly because they happened quite recently.
Incidents occur in one's life daily. Most of the time people enjoy
talking about "what happened today" because most of the time it's usually funny
and it isn't really considered anything serious. Some happenings in our lives
are very serious and aren't as easy to talk about with others. Even though this
is true it does help the person feel better to talk about their problems whether
they realize it at first or not. Changes in life like these can change you both
physically and mentally for the rest of your life depending on the severity of
the situation.

Creative Writing: The Inferno
<view this essay>.... cubicle of torment
does not allow language, the embodiment of opposition. As I step into my room,
I notice all colors of the spectrum for a fraction of a second, then they appear
red. Countless pictures adorn the walls; they are all of one person. I know
her, but who is she? Her eyes are dark and enigmatic. I can see the sadness in
her eyes. Her eyes. They lack the luminescence of the youthful character they
portray. Her glances pierce through my being like light through glass. The
carpet is a sea of scorn. It stabs my feet with its blades of contempt. The
walls of mockery laugh at me as I foolishly try to climb them to rid myself of
its presence. .....

Personal Writing: What Freedom Of Speech Means To Me
<view this essay>.... life, I find it essential that I
have the liberty to say and hear whatever I want to hear. Recently I have
been doing research on different religions and theories, and without the
freedom of speech, many of the enlightening ideas that I have received
could have passed me by, restricting my learning and intellectual expansion.
Try as we, the people and lawmakers might, it is impossible to
restrict a person from doing whatever is their desire and in their grasp.
Any person, at any time, can say anything they want to. And for good reason.
We are a democracy where the people make the rules, and the people own the
country. The place that the government should ste .....

Cow Lore
<view this essay>.... thumps of dancing and clapping,
and cheers of joy. Their steeds, consisting mostly of Longhorn and Black
Anguses, mooed calmly outside, having had their reigns tied to those
horizontal postthings you see in all those western movies. Mike pushed the
serving girl from his lap and awkwardly staggered to stand atop his table.
The music and dancing immediately stopped in respect.
"If it's a war the Milkers want," he slurred, tipping this way and that,
almost losing his balance. "Then it's a war they'll get." His statement
was met with a round of deafening cheers, which soon died back down. "You
are all people of war... and when we clash tomorrow, I want yo .....

Advice I Often Receive From Parents
<view this essay>.... to the best
of my ability, I will feel like I have accomplished something. This is
good because many kids have to live up to expectations that they can't
attain, or do something that they don't really enjoy in order to make their
parents proud.
The problem with saying "as long as you do you best" is that when I know
I could have done a better job, I have a sort of guilty feeling. I hate it
when I get a mediocre mark or fail in something and my parents say "as long
as you tried your hardest." It gets quite annoying when I second guess
myself about what I could have done. However, when I know I did the work
as well as I could and it isn't a good mark, I .....

Creative Writing: A Passage Of Time
<view this essay>.... the incredible amount of work he had to do over
the next several days. Abruptly, he rose and began walking to the kitchen.
In his own, almost mechanical way, he opened the refrigerator, removed a
drink, carried it to the counter, opened it, removed the tab, placed the
tab in a recycling bag, took one small drink and returned to his waiting
seat in the bedroom. These rituals and set patterns were something that
had always given Bradley a structure in his life, they had always
maintained themselves as an unwavering constant. But most importantly, they
were carried out slowly, and in the current times of speed and fast results,
it was very reassuring to be a .....

Personal Writing: First Day At Oxford High School
<view this essay>.... and new crisp pair of Levi blue jeans.
Unfortunately, I had to ride the big yellow tank called the school bus. I was very embarrassed to have to ride the bus, and when I think about it, I turned as red as a juicy apple.
When we promptly arrived at the school at 7:30 AM, I saw a thirty-foot tall brick building that looked like the size of two football fields put together. This made me even more nervous. Inside the gigantic school, I felt like a midget compared to the older kids, who seemed like giants. Finding the rooms where my classes were being taught was like solving a maze. The building had three stories and each level had over twelve classrooms. I .....

Creative Writing: Friends Till The Very End
<view this essay>.... this afternoon ended, their two lives, so entwined these many
years, would forever be changed.
Bobby clutched a smooth black stone in his fingers. He leaned into the light
breeze, preparing to skip it across the harbour waters, but stopped abruptly,
remembering that the gods did not like land removed from the island. As the
stone slipped from his fingers, his eyes followed the ripples that glided on and
off the grey beach where he stood, then rose almost by habit to gaze once more
at the Arizona Memorial stretching white and graceful, remembering painfully
that this would be the last time that he would ever walk along this beautiful
beach.
As his eyes watche .....
