Personal Writing: My New Life In India
<view this essay>.... and orange marigolds. India was
nothing more than an old family story to me, not a place to live.
Over the next couple of weeks, I ruminated on what life would be like in
India. My brother, who already attended an Indian boarding school, told me in
scratchy long-distance telephone conversations how great life was in India at
his boarding school.
"We have the best futbol (soccer) field in all of India," he said. "It
has an electronic scoring board, and the surface is fluorescent blue astroturf."
This was an enormous motivation factor, due to the fact that soccer is my
favorite sport. "And the food is delectable," he went on, "They serve ch .....

Route 66
<view this essay>.... officer. As the officer scans the license and registration he raises the questions, “Do you have any idea how fast you were going?”.
“I’d say I was going a shade under a hundred.,” John says with an uncaring attitude.
The officer states, “I clocked you doing a hundred and twenty-four miles an hour.”. “Why doesn’t this registration have your name on it?”, the officer questions suspiciously.
Thinking quickly john replies “My cousin owed me some money so he gave me the car and I haven’t had time to change the registration yet.”.
Doubting the truth of Johns answer the officer asks, “Then why is the car reported stolen?”. John refuses to acknowledge the officer. .....

Creative Writing: The Snickers Bar
<view this essay>.... sweet aroma of the sweet chocolate and caramel blend. Those chocolate
covered peanuts and caramel were very tantalizing.
Then we were allowed to open the wrapper. I opened it, careful not
to rip the wrapper. The second it was uncovered, the sweet smell got
stronger. That chocolate and caramel aroma was now increased with the
glorious smell of roasted peanuts. Oh! How I longed to taste that
tempting Snickers bar. The top of the bar itself looked like an ocean
wave just before it crashes onto the beach. It was a perfect picture,
frozen in time. It felt smooth, yet gooey at the same time.
Then I heard those magical words. "you may now take your fir .....

The Monkey's Paw
<view this essay>.... our
son" said Mrs. White as she took a step backward. "But that's impossible"
said Mr. White "I wished him away, I wished him away from our doorstep".
"But he's not at our doorstep" said Mrs. White. They looked at each other
in horror and ran downstairs to fetch the monkeys paw. Mr. White picked it
up in his trembling hands. "But, there is no more wishes left," said Mrs.
White. "Maybe, just maybe I can squeeze out just one more wish to save us,"
said Mr. White. He held the monkeys paw high in the air and said, "I wish I
never pulled this wretched monkeys paw out of the fire". But nothing
happened, all was silent. "We can't make it go away" said Mrs. White. Th .....

Creative Writing: Friends Till The Very End
<view this essay>.... this afternoon ended,
their two lives, so entwined these many years, would forever be changed.
Bobby clutched a smooth black stone in his fingers. He leaned into the
light breeze, preparing to skip it across the harbour waters, but stopped
abruptly, remembering that the gods did not like land removed from the
island. As the stone slipped from his fingers, his eyes followed the
ripples that glided on and off the grey beach where he stood, then rose
almost by habit to gaze once more at the Arizona Memorial stretching white
and graceful, remembering painfully that this would be the last time that
he would ever walk along this beautiful beach.
As his eyes watche .....

Creative Writing: The Miller's Tale
<view this essay>.... so I had to get her and take her back home. When
I got to the man's house I entered in grand fashion by showing how I could open
the door with my head. Oh well, that didn't go over as planned but it scared my
woman so bad she finally did just let it go. Then, after cleaning it up we were
on our way out and back to home sweet home. When we arrived I got some great
news that made the whole squirts issue fall back to the back of my mind. I got
word that the King wanted one of my women to get it on with him. So soon I got
the prettiest woman I had. She had blond hair and a nice set on her, if I do say
so myself. She all of her teeth except for three but i .....

Creative Writing: Destroying Racism
<view this essay>.... I first really thought about this, I thought, this is not
Mississippi, or Alabama; this is Michigan, and it's in my grandma's neighborhood.
And the thing is, their a normal family, just like any other. They went on trips
in the summer, and spring, and this time came back to a message on the lawn.
I sat there that day watching cars go by their house as if it were
haunted or something. I guess it can happen anywhere. But this snow-covered
house is still a reflection of America, white on top with a hatred burning
underneath. I go to a college, where the races meet every day. Colored man helps
white man; white man helps colored man. Doesn't sound right ? T .....

Personal Writing: Nature And The Self
<view this essay>.... the sand. It is a beautiful sight when the sun begins to rise,
seemingly from nowhere. I feel the warmth on my face, as it seems to
energize my body and soul. I feel content and at ease with life and the
world around me because nowhere else do I find this serenity.
The beach in the morning is a lot like me. It comes to life slowly.
As the sun rises, the waves roll in gently and the birds stretch out before
they begin their flight for the day. When the wind picks up, so do the
waves, the sights, the smells and the sounds. I, too, pick up after a cup
of coffee.
The beach differs from my work immensely. I work in the finance
industry where cust .....
