Accusations By The Media
<view this essay>.... been arrested, but John Benet Ramsey's parents seem to be the target of the media investigation.
Throughout every story there seems to be truth and fiction; sensation and sensationalism. This is what I find so disturbing about the Littleton case. I know that school children don't usually kill each other before recess, and I can understand the want of the media to capitalize on the opportunity to instill in us some sense of pathos, but to take on the persona of the "older brother" with regards to how the media mediated this event was wrong in my eyes. By "older brother" persona I mean that they bullied us into believing what they believed. First we were .....

Sibling Rivalry
<view this essay>.... for his brother.
In such a situation the older brother may act violently toward his younger
brother in the absence of an adult. In such a situation there are different
theories about what to do. Some say that a parent should allow them to work
it out by themselves (unless the baby is too young). The instinctive
reaction is to scold the older brother and "baby" the younger brother. This
helps neither brother. The younger brother feels more dependent, which
damages his self-image, while it makes the older brother resent the
attention his younger brother receives even more.
In this situation my personal belief is that a person should calmly
explain to the o .....

Which would leave us to believe that the norm should be that the individual should have independent rights and freedoms only in accordance to the well being of the whole of society.
Hence, the question of is there any good basis for an obligation to obey the law? It seems to myself that Mill and Aquinas justifuly answered that debate , yet, the Joseph Raz article , The Authority of Law , tends to disagree. Raz arg .....

Animal activist organizations believe that there are no moral reasons
for the use of animals in research. This has attempted to slow or halt the work
of scientists. Some activists groups intimidate or harass individual scientists,
conduct demonstrations, or sometimes commi .....

The Different Ways Of Raising Children
<view this essay>.... allow their children to have too many outside activities. Even though these are some healthy activities like playing sports, camping and joining the school clubs, the parents do not want their children to spend too much time outside. In contrast, the children who raised in the United States can go outside more freely. In fact, all of the parents are scared of their children having accidents. However, most of the parents in the United States prefer their children to have more outside activities than just stay at home. In addition, most of the children in Hong Kong have no human rights than the children who are raised in the United States. Traditionally, ma .....
