.... recent survey composed of college students’ opinions, revealed what they really think about smoking. The students at the University of Florida argued about these questions: Does cigarette smoke effect a person’s health and body? Does cigarette smoke habit bring about financial problems? The most argumentative question was that if smoking is liked or disliked by the opposite sex? The answers given to questions asked on this survey are very educational and helpful. Smoking is the cause of most deaths in the world. It has killed millions and millions of people. Just in the United States alone, 400,000 people have died due to tobacco related illnesses. S .....

.... people to set spouses on fire in their beds, lie down in the middle of highways, extort money by placing bombs in airplanes, rape, steal, murder, commit numerous other shootings and assaults, and much much more. Over 1,000 cases have proven that media violence can have negative affects on children as well. Media violence on children increases aggressiveness and anti-social behavior, makes them less sensitive to violence, and to victims of violence, and it increases their appetite for more violence in entertainment and in real life. Media violence is especially damaging to young children, age 8 and under, because they cannot tell the difference between real life .....

.... contain violence? I think not. Why is censorship more acceptable in any other form? Profanity cannot harm a teenager or adult in any way since it is merely words. Children should not be exposed to it, so children should not be allowed to watch television shows with ratings that suggest that profanity is contained in the program. When a television ratings system was created, the necessity for censorship ended. The purpose of the ratings is to warn parents of the content, so all material should be allowed on TV since the viewer is warned beforehand of the shows level of maturity. Television violence and vulgarity are not the only examples of unjust censorship. .....

.... Norma Rae. Are the exact opposites of the media’s portrayal of women. These movies were both released prior to the nineties, but both revolve around one woman with the self confidence to stand up for their rights, and what they believe. The media has only really impacted my life when I was a young child. The perplexing commercials of GI JOE and the unforgettable Transformers were just mind boggling. Anytime a new commercial aired. I would always ask for the newest one. This was of course, before I comprehended the value of the Canadian dollar bill. As the nineties have change the appearance of our currency, my outlook on first impressions of the advertisements .....

Do we glorify boxing (most of the time bloody shows) because it is entertaining, or maybe because it is a multi-milion dollar business? The scenery of boxing is broken bones, black and blue faces, blood...The more severe the fight the more exited and happy the audience seems to be. Violence simply stimulates people. Big glory comes when one passes out! YES...here is the hero! What is the message here? It is, we will like you more since you are physically stronger, and we will respect you because we are afraid of you. That is again, a wrong message. Violence is glorified the most through .....

The only careers for which girls were trained were wifehood and motherhood. These weren’t suitable careers for women which threatened to drive .....

.... However these resources are very limited and need to be conserved and used wisely. The earth's natural systems are extremely vital to life but will eventually breakdown if they are overloaded. The well-being and survival of the earth is linked to the environment. The lives of those from future generations and are own depend upon us handling the earth with care. Knowing how sensitive the earth can be corporations are not doing enough for the environment. Belching chimneys, strong detergents, smoking incinerators, exhaust fumes from automobiles are the cancer of modern society. Poisoned by carbon monoxide and sulfur dioxide is the air we breathe. .....
