Child Exploitation
<view this essay>.... Children are dying for the sake of a sport and the world does nothing.
As if the idea has not been beaten into our heads enough, but these children that are dying are our future. Organizations have been formed to make sure that we know this, and make sure that we protect our future. Yet, child camel jockeys are cheered on by these same organizations when they visit these regions. They concentrate on sweatshops while around the world people are literally getting away with murder. Our trust rests, supposedly safely, in these people’s hands in hopes that they will pick up the slack for the rest of society. Then we are shown these films and pictures and we won .....

The problem began when they realized that although less criminals were on the streets there were also more in prison which took up space for new prisoners, who in some cases should be there before the ones that were already inhabiting the jail. There have been many new experimental programs in which the government is trying to keep the prison population down. Some of these have proved to be very successful while others have failed. Although not everybody agrees on what the solution they do agree that .....

is affected by the violence. However, Josephson tends to rely more on the
idea that it is affected and feels that more research should be directed to
this area.
Mostly, attention is focused on factors such as the disinhibition
effect and cue-triggered aggression. Josephson aims to differentiate these
two areas and how they are affected by television violence. The overall
purpose of her study is to research the effect this violence has on boys'
aggression. Special emphasis is placed on factors .....

This socialness includes dances, special theme parties, dinners and
vacations. The couples who attend are also interested in learning about
relationships, meeting new friends and for exposure to something new. One of
the most common misconceptions is that people come just to have sex. However,
this is an option at Dave and Dawn's club. Their club is known as an ‘on-site'
club. This means that Dave and Dawn .....

Equity In Canada
<view this essay>.... racism of indifference”, deals with the
equity issues around racism. The article states that “In a Halifax
hospital, a white woman is given compassionate care, but a black man’s
medical problem gets short shrift”. The article describes a case in which a
black man was in need of urgent medical help. Because of his race his case
was not given top priority. It was later mentioned that his medical
condition could have resulted in death.
The issue of racism is certainly not new to the Halifax area. In
the 1960’s blacks were ordered out of their village, and in 1980’s Sikh
immigrants were called ‘trash’ and told to ‘go home.’ I found the author’
s choice of wo .....

Leaders Of The Progressive Movement
<view this essay>.... to vote. Each of these three women made a unique and enduring difference in American society. Even in the time before women's suffrage, Jeanette Rankin was elected to the House of Representatives. During her time there, she worked tirelessly for all kinds of legislation to help women, while never compromising her pacifist stance. Jane Addams also worked for social reforms, using her position in society to form Hull House, a settlement house for the social and economic betterment of the poor. She wrote many books about worthy causes such as peace, and endured harsh criticism of her work. Perhaps the most radical of the three, Emma Goldman, took her work .....
