Rationalism
<view this essay>.... that he could hold as true beyond any doubt and determining where clear and distinct ideas come from. He began this task by casting doubt upon everything that he knew. He even felt that our sense perceptions were merely illusions or hallucinations.
…I shall then suppose, not that God who is supremely good
and the fountain of truth, but some evil genius not less powerful
than deceitful, has employed his whole energies in deceiving me;
I shall consider that the heavens, the earth, colors, figures, sound,
and all other external things are nought but the illusions and
dreams of which this genius has availed himself in order to lay
traps for m .....

Sexual Discrimination
<view this essay>.... states, "With all the focus on discrimination against women, few understand the sexism directed against men." (249) Women and men should be treated as equals, however, more attention is directed towards discrimination towards women. In the 1990s, the men's movement arose in society to try and deal with the problem of sexism against men. This movement came about due to a medley of factors: women's criticisms of men's shortcomings as husbands, fathers, and lovers; the debilitating pressures of the economy and men's unequal responsibility to succeed in the workplace, to prove their worth by making money; and men's confusion over what it means to be a man t .....

Prejudice
<view this essay>.... against me when sports teams were
being chosen. It seemed as if captains would look at me and decide that I
was fat, wouldnąt be very fast, or be very good and not choose me. In
fact, I play hard and am fairly good at several sports. I feel like I can
make a strong contribution to a team, and am hurt when captains donąt want
me on their teams. In fact, there have been times when I have gotten on a
team and done well. Then sometimes the kids that I have played with will
choose me to be on their team again and the fat prejudice is broken.
Because I have experience prejudice myself, and have been hurt by it, I try
to avoid treating other people that wa .....

Inhumanity
<view this essay>.... would be war. War is when a political dispute between leaders get so large to them they have to call upon there nation to commit acts of murder. While this is personal to the leaders and this may mean something to them, the military that they have do the killing for them are merely tools in a game. This is very impersonal for the people in battle. They are just told to kill, shoot, or bomb, complete strangers. While the stranger, their opponent, has no personal aggression towards them. What Are Teens Supposed To Do?
<view this essay>.... to when you were a teenager between the ages of 14 and 20. I'll bet the most common word you heard was "NO". Today, although the fashions and music of teenagers has changed, not much has changed with what they can do. When they were younger they had plenty of things they could do and they would even be content with hanging out in the neighborhood with friends. Now that these kids are becoming young adults and are craving their independence it seems as though they are being left out of all of the fun.
Here is the jest of the problem, Teenagers are too old to enjoy going to Chuck-E-Cheese and Discovery Zone and places of that nature, and they are too young .....

Teen Pregnancy
<view this essay>.... they did not have the qualifications to get a job. As I was reading an article, I read that 40,000 teenage women drop out of school each year. Many of them endure in dramatic social and economical hardships and become dependent on welfare. Continuing this article, I also found out that 43% of all adolescents become pregnant before the age of 20.
I feel as though many women do not know how to resist peer pressure or temptation, I feel, as though they should resort to abstinence.
Abstinence is without a question the best policy, and should be emphasized as not just the preferred choice, but the safest- to prevent pregnancy as well as some diseases that rang .....

Stereotyping Of Teenagers
<view this essay>.... that if we can accept the poor, disabled, foreign, and
homeless people regardless of race, religion, or gender; accepting a person
who just chooses to dress and look differently would be easy. As I have
found, such is not the case. Discrimination towards teenagers, especially
the ones who chose to dress differently, is a problem. It is a problem
that goes very often un-addressed.
There are plenty of stereotypes, but I believe the one that is
believed the most is what the stereotypical teenage "freak" is.
Constantly people assume, just by looking at me, a lot of different things.
I was surprised to find the number of people who just figured I was .....

The Many Faces Of Marriage
<view this essay>.... her people have suffered for so many years have blinded them to the
subtle magnificence which can pervade even the lowliest life, and can be
tapped by any imagination with sufficient motivation. As a child, Janie
longs for the glorious truth which tickles her fancy through the heavenly
scent of the pear tree, but the hard materialism of her grandmother and
later her first husband restrain her by trying to crowd her mind with the
empty trinkets which they themselves have learned to value. Her second
husband is similarly stifling; though his strength and power is at first
appealing, he too is unable to comprehend that life is in the living and
the being .....
