Where Would We Be Without Freedom?
<view this essay>.... The opening words of the Constitution state the greatest right granted to US citizens. "We the people…" clearly states that the people themselves are given the power to establish or change the government. One philosophy of our land is representative democracy. We each have the right to elect people to make laws for our country. Walter Winchell said, "Too many people expect wonders from democracy, when the most wonderful thing of all is just having it," (Phillips, 90). The Bill of Rights added other civil rights not granted in the original Constitution. Freedom of speech, religion, press, assembly, petition, the right to bear arms, and the rights of th .....

Also the standard of living would decrease because of their income that is way
below the average income. Right now, there is also a big gap between the low
income people and the high income people and this is becoming a problem. Low
income people are starting to get lower wages and higher income people are
starting to get higher wages.

state- sponsored genocide. Racism is an unmerited fear or dislike of a
people because of their ethnic heritage. When colour is not a reason,
other reasons such as language, religion, nationality, education, sex, or
age become the reason of prejudice.
Sociologists, historians, anthropologists and archeologists believe
racial discrimination happens more often and most harshly when two groups
with different skin colours and unique physical features come into contact
with each other and the two compete for the same thing. History shows that
all attempts at a racial dominance result in conflict and avoidance.

Questions about the effects of television violence have been around

television's effects upon our children can be found in many Congressional
hearings as early as the 1950s. For example, the United States Senate Committee

of continuing congressional investigations by this committee and others from the
1950s to the present.

Identities And How They Are Formed
<view this essay>.... I completely
agree with this statement. How people are brought up and what they are exposed
to defines their identity and intentions in society. I was brought up by loving
parents that among others things taught me to be true to my feelings and to
express them truthfully. Jean-Jacues Rousseau's theory about corruption relates
to the "clean slate" idea. He stated that corruption come from society. So if
one is not influenced positively they may end up corrupt and be a hindrance on
society. If a child grows up in a "dysfunctional family" they may be at a
disadvantage to a child like my brother who is getting the same social education
from my parents and th .....

Is There Romance Left?
<view this essay>.... of four years. During my brief time
on this earth, I have watched my parents, my friends, and acquaintances go
through relationships and difficult times in these relationships. These
people always seem to grow from these relationships, although at the end of
each one, they always asked me “Where is my true love? I thought that this
one was it.”
During these times, I have come to formulate my own feelings on
what separates a good relationship from the one that is destined to fail
from the start. These observations have come from watching my friends, my
own experience, and the movies and books that I have read.
Call me a hopeless romantic, but I am a firm .....

sociability. They are always thinking of themselves in everything they do.
Each individual is preoccupied exclusively with the gratification of
personal desires (felicity or happiness).Ones success in maintaining a
continuous flow of gratification is the means of ones happiness.
The object of the voluntary acts of every man is some good to himself.
Whenever man renounces his right it is either in consideration for some right
reciprocally transferred to himself, or for some other good he hopes for from
the outcome. This presents us with the old saying: "Do unto others as you would
want them to do unto you."
