Presidential Debate `96
<view this essay>.... kept
cool, while Clinton himself made no offensive remarks to Dole.
The questions asked brought about straight answers in the beginning,
but towards the end, the candidates were repeating themselves because the
questions began to lose focus and seemed to overlap enough to cause an
answer similar to if not the same as an earlier one. I do admit, though,
that the questions did attack key points and some answers that were given
did seriously cause some thought not to where the vote is going, but where
it will lead us. The answers given were fairly definitive, and the only
topic not seriously touched was scandals such as Watergate, etc.
The debate was ke .....

Should Quebec (or Other Provinces) Separate From Canada In Order To Best Protect Its Constitutional Rights?
<view this essay>.... culture and language. I think it is an unacceptable reason in a
multicultural nation. Multicultualism is a special identity of Canada. It
allows people to maintain their own culture. If Canada does not have
multiculturalism, there will be no Chinatown in most big cities in Canada. So it
is not necessary to separate in order to protect French culture and language.
Furthermore if French-Canadian wants to avoid any influence from other culture,
France is the greatest place for them.
Moreover, the Canada government will lose money if Quebec separates by
dealing with the separation affairs, like to help people in Quebec back to
Canada who do not want to .....

To Clone Or Not To Clone
<view this essay>.... in two essays were they state whether cloning is right or wrong. Ruth Macklin, a professor of Bioethics, wrote an essay about this issue. "Human Cloning? Don't Just Say No" is the title of her article. Her essay discusses the negative response of the people to Human Cloning. As the title of the essay says: "Human Cloning? Don't Just Say No", Macklin believes that cloning deserves a chance to be developed in humans. Macklin talks about Human Clones not being accepted as human beings. She states that an ethicist said once, that human cloning would be a violation to "the right to genetic identity" (Perspectives of Contemporary Issues, pg. 508). Macklin doubts abou .....

The Federalist Papers And Federalism
<view this essay>.... would explain and defend the
Constitution.
Hamilton started the idea and outlined the sequence of topics to be
discussed, and addressed most of them in fifty-one of the letters. Madison's
Twenty-nine letters have proved to be the most memorable in their balance and
ideas of governmental power. It is not clear whether The Federalist Papers,
written between October 1787 and May 1788 had any effect on New York's and
Virginia's ratification of the Constitution.
Encyclopedia Britannica defines Federalism as, "A mode of political
organization that unites independent states within a larger political framework
while still allowing each state to maint .....

The PLO
<view this essay>.... through three parts:
1.the Executive Committee, a decision-making body
2.the Central Committee, an advisory body
3.the Palestine National Council which is generally viewed as an
assembly of the Palestinian people
Yasser Arafat has been the head of the PLO since 1968.
In 1974 at an Arab summit in Rabat, Morocco, the PLO was recognized as
the "sole legitimate representative of the Palestinian people". Subsequent
to this, Arafat addressed the United Nations where the organization was
given official observer status.
In 1970 the PLO commandos fought a short but bloody war with the

Sex Marriage
<view this essay>.... homosexuals should have the same rights as heterosexuals, one of these rights being marriage. If it is proven that there is indeed a gene that causes homosexuality, than we can draw a parallel between not allowing homosexuals to marry and not allowing blonds to marry. This is why it is of great importance to public policy whether or not homosexuality is predetermined. Some now believe that homosexuality is genetically predetermined by a gene on the X chromosome. If this is the case, then gays cannot decide their sexual orientation, for it is predetermined. Hence, not allowing those who are genetically inclined to prefer the same sex to marry leaves ho .....

Government Cutbacks
<view this essay>.... It is understandable that government find some ways to
recoupe some money, and they have done a great job with welfare, and in
many other cost saving ways. But the most important health care and
education should not be cut back. Why, you ask? we'll start off with
education. Children are our future. They are the future teachers and
doctors, lawyers and politicians. Class sizes have grown to very high
numbers, it is not unusual to see a class have an average of 35 students.
With the larger class sizes, you create a balance for the students. On the
one side, you have the very smart kids. In the middle, you have the average
kids. And on the other side, y .....

Body Image Standards
<view this essay>.... is a multibillion dollar a year industry. Companies such as Revlon, Cover Girl, Maybelline, L’Oreal insist that girls must look a certain way if they want to be anything. These corporations are only concerned with the bottom line. They take no responsibility for the negative image that they portray, in fact, that is what they thrive on. The worse self-image a woman has, the more beauty products she will buy to try and “improve” her looks. And there is no better way to make her think she is ugly than to subject her to thousands of unrealistic, airbrushed pictures of models to compare herself to. This way of thinking is further drilled into the female mind t .....
