Romeo & Juliet
<view this essay>.... traits is how good intentioned he is.
He may do something out of the ordinary if he thinks the outcome will help
someone he cares for. For example, when he says "In one respect I'll thy
assistant be; for this alliance may so happy prove, to turn your households
rancour to pure love."(Act 2, Scene 3), he is saying that the only reason
he will marry Romeo and Juliet is because he hopes that the marriage will
end the hostilities between the two houses. When he says "Shall Romeo by
my letters know our drift, and hither shall he come; and he and I shall
watch thy waking, and that very night shall Romeo bear thee to Mantua."
(Act 4, Scene 1), he tells Juliet h .....

Abstract Expressionism
<view this essay>.... artists to have achieved a truly abstract visual language in
painting. Although they worked independently, these artists were united by
a belief that abstract painting was capable of evoking a spiritual
experience. A central figure of German Expressionism, Kandinsky, in 1911,
began to paint densely layered composition of free-floating lines and areas
of color, with the intention to reveal his desire to instill visual form
with the properties of music. By 1915, Malevich had invented a new,
abstract visual set of paintings consisting of one or more colored
geometric shapes on a white field. He visualized a state of feeling, and a
sense of bliss and wonder. .....

because of what Matthew did, not why he did it. The father of the victim “
Walter” was very sympathetic, he understanding of what Matthew was going through.

Ambiguity And Equivocation In Macbeth
<view this essay>.... This voluntary misinterpretation, committed in
pursuit of power, leads Macbeth to perform certain actions which result in
the death of the king, Macbeth's friends, and eventually his own death.
From the beginning of the play, Macbeth desires great power. Lady
Macbeth's statement to Macbeth that "When you durst do it, then you were a
man;" (I.vii.55) suggests that she and Macbeth have contemplated and
possibly committed murder for the sake of advancement before. Macbeth
provides further support for this in his reaction to the witches' prophecy
that he will be king. After Macbeth is made Thane of Cawdor, he realizes
that the witches were right, and immediately .....

the ribs." (1:2, 4-6). The same thing happens again, this time about Cassio.
"With her - on her - what you will." (4:1, 42). Iago tells Othello about
Cassio sleeping with Desdemona. This appears to be Iago's smartest move
because this causes the death of Desdemona and Cassio. This part also appears
important to Iago because he is finally made lieutenant.
Othello changes dramatically when he hears all these lies from Iago.
He is now less patient. He hurries through many decisions to be made. Such as
the one to kill his wife. He also jumps to conclusions too quickly. This is
shown when Iago and Bianca are talking about Cassio and Othello misinterp .....

Hamlet: Feigned Madness
<view this essay>.... to unmask those who are guilty.
The question of whether Hamlet’s madness is real or pretend depends on the definition of madness. If the term includes being very annoyed, then Hamlet might be called mad. If, on the other hand, madness is having complete loss of reason, not sane, then Hamlet’s spoken thoughts alone prove him to be sane. By his own words, Hamlet is feigning, and it is that his pretend madness is never assumed except in the presence of the king or those whom he considers the king’s agents (Hankins 127). The train of events from the death of his father to the revelation of the ghost has profoundly disturbed Hamlet. He realizes it himself and .....

Dramatic Irony And Characters In Shakespeare's Romeo And Juliet
<view this essay>.... The part where
Mercutio is slain by Tybalt is a good example of this. Because Tybalt
killed his good friend Mercutio, Romeo killed Tybalt. Another would be the
part where he finds Juliet dead. He cared so much for her that he killed
himself.
In the book Romeo says some things that reflect on his personality.
"Did my heart love till now? Forswear it, sight, / For I ne'er saw true
beauty till this night."(Act 1 Sc. 5 Ln. 59-60) Romeo easily becomes
infatuated with girls. "With Rosaline, my ghostly Father? No. / I have
forgot that name and that name's woe." (Act 2 Sc. 3 Ln. 48-49) Romeo easily
forgets about the girl he was so sad about and Juliet replaces his mem .....

Antigone
<view this essay>.... and cruel ruler, his intentions are not that of a villain, but those of a man who is concerned with the welfare of his citizens and the state. It was that concern that caused his ultimate downfall…a life of misery after the death of his wife and son. Both of these characters experienced an epiphany, a point in their lives when they realized that things have changed for the worse. They both had hubris, and both suffered for it. Hence, my confusion. Can there be more than one hero in a Greek tragedy, or is there something that I am missing.
A comparison of these two characters, in an attempt to clarify this perplexing idea has only caused a heightening to .....
