the Salem witch trials.
During World War II, Germany made an attempt to overrun Europe. What happened
when the Nazis came into power and persecuted the Jews in Germany, Austria and
Poland is well known as the Holocaust. Here, humanís evil side provides one of
the scariest occurrences of this century. Adolf Hitler and his Nazi counterparts
conducted raids of the ghettos to locate and often exterminate any Jews they

<view this essay>.... and hold power. Theseus has the power over an army and Oberon has a
mysterious right-hand man known as Puck who does Oberon's dirty work using majic.
Another quality they have in common is that they keep a promise.
Theseus is a man of his word and if he says something, you can count on it to be
done. Oberon will not take anything lightly. If something is not done, he will
do it himself or call on Puck.
Theseus and Oberon are also very different in many ways. Their minds
function alike in some ways but very different in other situations. Theseus is

Left to die he was found by a shepard who gave him away to who Oedipus grew up thinking was his parents. Oedipus’s parents trying to kill him only leads to the death of his father and the downfall of Oedipus: “Shepard: I pitied the baby, my king,/ And I thought that this man would take him far away/...He saved him-but for what a fate!/For if you are what this man says you are,/No man living is more wretched than Oedipus.” (lines 64-69).

Is what Macbeth says when he learns none of woman born can harm him. Macbeth loses his feel good attitude when he learns the answer to his question about Banquo's descendants. "Horrible sight! Oedipus: Sometimes Things Are Better Left Unknown
<view this essay>.... which
ultimately led to his downfall.
All of Oedipus’ troubles began when he went in search of answers to
his fate. If Oedipus would have just let life take its natural course, he
most likely would never have found out the horrific details of his life.
It would not have changed the fact that he killed his father, and married
his mother, but he never had to find that out. If Oedipus would not have
gone to the oracle in search of his fate, he would have lived a life
without the fear of knowing what lay ahead for him. Instead, he finds out
his fate, and tries to avoid his destiny by doing things to decrease his
chances of the prophecy being fulfilled. In th .....

Shakespeare's World
<view this essay>.... of Shakespearean London or the Age of Shakespeare.
No other artist, let alone writer, has had their name inscribed on such a
towering edifice. "Thou in our wonder and astonishment, hast built thyself a
long-live monument," wrote Milton, in praise of Shakespeare.
Shakespeare is by far and without doubt the most popular and successful
writer of all time. But what of the man himself? Who was William Shakespeare?
The life of William Shakespeare is shrouded in mystery. There is no
record of him receiving an education, buying a book or writing a single letter,
and no original manuscript of a Shakespeare play survives. There is no direct
record of his conversations .....

Our Town: Universal Theme Of Family

ties this into the universal theme which is family and consistency. He
uses sub-themes to help the reader further expand their knowledge of the
setting of "Our Town" and to make them constantly aware that they are in
reality, not trapped within the play.
As most authors would prefer the reader trapped within the play the
author uses techniques which I have never observed before in this play.
For instance dramatic irony, and Pantomine play a very important role in
this play. By the use of the stage manager constantly pausing and giving
us a reality check, he makes sure we know we are still in reality. The
Stage manager creates quite and .....
