The Crucible: John Proctor's Decision To Die; Is The Right One?
<view this essay>.... to John Proctor,
husband and father of three, if he lived then he could not possibly raise
his kids to be men in the world if their father is a sell out to his
friends. He wanted to teach them that they should stand up for what they
believe in and not give in to unjust courts and/or other examples in life.
By dying he taught his kids that not only he is not a sell out but he also
taught them that he stood up for what he believed in. John Proctor is not
a man known to go to church often, but he must of remember this quote from
the bible: "No one has love greater than this that someone should surrender
his soul in behalf of his friends"(John 15:13). This quot .....

Othello: Reasons For Iago's Hatred Of Othello
<view this essay>.... but a love that feeds upon the jealousy of suspecting Othello
and Emilia of sleeping together. Iago's two-sided nature is clearly
depicted throughout the play as his malicious plan against Othello unfolds.
One of the most compelling reasons for Iago's hatred of Othello is
depicted in the first scene of the play, when Iago expresses his jealousy
of Cassio. Iago is a non-commissioned officer who is experienced and
ambitious. Instead of appointing Iago who had plenty of experience on the
battlefield, Othello appoints "a great arithmetician, one Michael Cassio, a
Florentine . . . that never set a squadron on the field" (1.1.19-22).
Michael Cassio wa .....

Hamlet: A Revenge Tragedy
<view this essay>.... is noble in birth and person, a prince of extraordinary
intelligence: and, as the action of the play proves, he is heroic. His
defect (indecision, excessive imagination, irrationality, madness, etc.)
prevents him from seizing control of the world Claudius has created. His
death closes the play, but only after he experiences and expresses
illuminations about human life and death.
Hamlet begins after Hamlet's father has died. This has casted an
unwanted and heavy cloud upon Hamlet's soul. Throughout the play Hamlet
learns that his father's death was no mistake, but it was Hamlet's uncle's
plan to murder him. This, of course, throws a much larger burden on .....

The Use Of “Foil” Characters In Shakespeare’s Hamlet
<view this essay>.... two main foil characters Fortinbras and Laertes, is their murdered
fathers. Hamlets father King Hamlet was killed by his brother Claudius,
Fortinbras’s father was killed by King Hamlet during battle and Laertes
father Polonius was slain by the hand of Hamlet. These three near
identical situations give rise to three very different courses of action
(or inaction). It is here that Laertes and Fortinbras display their true
purpose in the play.
If we first examine the acts of Fortinbras we can see numerous
occasions when the brave and instinctive actions of this character reflect
poorly upon the character of Hamlet. For example although we do not see
Fortinbra .....

Much Ado About Nothing
<view this essay>.... and always had a response to anyone's comments. For example, when he was talking to Beatrice, he always had a comment to finish of the conversation. He also didn't like the idea of marriage. Benedick thought that marriage led to the trapping of men. When he heard about Claudio getting married, Benedick thought that Claudio was crazy, because Benedick felt that marriage was going to change the way Claudio lived. Benedick was also very stubborn. He never wanted to give into other people's ideas, and that was why he didn't want to give into the idea that marriage could be a good thing in a person's life.
Beatrice was a character very similar to Benedick. She was a .....

Krapp's Last Tape: Imagery In Color
<view this essay>.... if not sparse with little
resolution. Yet despite this, these plays make very bold and philosophical
statements about life in the 20th century. The playwrights indiscreetly utilize
metaphoric and symbolic details to support their message. In "Krapp's Last
Tape," Samuel Beckett exploits such techniques in expressing his own bleak and
pessimistic view of the world.
In his middle years of his life, Krapp retained this rigid and anal
retentive nature. He kept these tapes in which he would constantly reevaluate
his own life and try to always improve it, using these tapes as "help before
embarking on a new retrospect" (1629). He had also stored these var .....

"Planet Of The Apes"
<view this essay>.... world if humans did not
have language. Life would not be as we know it today. Consider how valuable
language would have been to the mutes in the movie. When they were being chased
and whipped like animals, would they not have been able to plot an escape to
avoid capture and imprisonment by the apes if they had been able to communicate?
Yes, they would have been free to live as equals. The apes and the humans would
have been co-inhabitants of the earth rather than creatues in a superior-
inferior relationship. "Planet of the Apes" is a perfect example of why
language is so important.
Another reason I am disputing Mr. Burrough's opinion of this movie .....

Are Traditional Methods Of Rendering Obsolete Or Not
<view this essay>.... thousand pounds.
The world of design has been put under the spell of the Apple Macintosh, digital cameras and image manipulation software. Almost everything that we now see has been altered or produced on the computer, any thing from photos that we see in magazines where people have been made to look better than they actually are to the surroundings in the news room on the six o'clock news.
The real question is 'Where dose this leave the traditional methods of rendering images and type?' I feel that in the next 10 years there will be a flood of traditional style and people will be crying out for the personal touch of a photographer using chemicals in a dark .....
