The National Endowment For The Arts
<view this essay>.... the government, may soon cut the funding provided for these young artists. This must not be allowed. Without federal funding for the arts, otherwise known as (NEA), art programs, education, and institutions would soon diminish in quality. Some things would possibly die out completely. Unfortunately, most of those opposed to the NEA have been supplied with misinformation that alters their perception of the issue. However, if given the facts about how the NEA can benefit not only the artisans, but also the whole nation, those opposers might change their mind in support of the arts program.
One of the biggest arguments against federal funding for the arts .....

A Doll's House: A Push To Freedom
<view this essay>.... situation of untruth or inadequate truth which
conceals conflict and contradiction ( ). In "A Doll's House", Nora's
independent nature is in contradiction the tyrannical authority of Torvald.
This conflict is concealed by the way they both hide their true selves from
society, each other, and ultimately themselves. Just like Nora and Torvald,
every character in this play is trapped in a situation of unturth. In "Ghosts",
the play Ibsen wrote directly after "A Doll's House", the same conflict is the
basis of the play. Because Mrs. Alving concedes to her minister's ethical
bombardment about her responsibilities in marriage, she is forced to conceal the
truth a .....

Romeo And Juliet: Tragedy, Love Story Or Both?
<view this essay>.... family Capulet had been locked in a feud
for years, even so that their servants fought on the street. This is the tragedy
that sets off the train of other misfortunes, and if these conflicts were
resolved, none of the further things I am about to mention would have happened.
The tragedy of Romeo's love for Rosalind, she too was a Capulet, and so that
barred his love for her, although she also did not love him.
Quite obviously, the misfortune of Romeo and Juliet's forbidden love. This is
the basis of the whole story. For two people to love each other and not be able
to show their true feelings for each other is ultimately very frustrating. It's

Dead Man Walking

explained her need to "give back" during the film and appeared to be completely
serious about her commitment to helping others. Sister Helen did not wear her
habit during the course of the film. Many people have a stereotypical vision of
Catholic nuns: the habit, seemingly out-of-touch thoughts and ideals, and older
and/or without any vitality. Sister Helen showed what being a Catholic and a
Catholic nun is truly about. She accepted a call for help from a complete
stranger. Instead of turning away or giving up, she persisted, showing what
love and, in a way, courage could do under such dire circumstances. Through it
all, she .....

Death Of A Salesman: An Overview
<view this essay>.... with reference to the setting of course. To generalize,
the play gives us a good hard look at the great American Dream failing miserably.
However the combination of both the stage and screen productions accurately
depict the shortcomings of the capitalist society.
Death of a Salesman specifically focuses on four characters, the first
being the main character Willy Loman, his wife Linda, and their two sons Hap and
Biff Loman. As mentioned, the focal point of this play is Willy Loman, a
salesman in his early sixties. Throughout the story we are told the hard life,
emotions and triumphs of Willy the salesman. Early in the play we learn that
he has rec .....

Talk Show Trash
<view this essay>.... men
who wanted to tell their lovers about their secret gay lives”, what trash this
was. It started off having the men come out and talk about their women and then
about their gay partners. Then in front of millions of people they brought out
the ladies on stage, to then embarrass them by talking in detail about their gay
encounter, I was almost sick. One man actually told his fiancee the he had sex
with one of her male cousins. Another told of his experiences of picking up
male gay prostitutes in the streets of New York City on many occasions. Now my
question is that is any of this even necessary for people to watch, or the
embarrassment of the indiv .....
