27 Years Of Influential 60 Minutes
<view this essay>.... by the inception of 60 Minutes. All of the tabloid television
programs being shown today are also a result of 60 Minutes and its bold,
gutsy, "gotcha" style of television journalism. 60 Minutes changed the
way that the American public receives its television news, stemming forth a
whole new format of television broadcast journalism.
60 Minutes has a vast history of stories covered, yet the format
has remained unchanged. Don Hewett, creator and producer of 60 Minutes,
has been the subject of much criticism for his stubbornness. Since its
origin, 60 Minutes has continued to adhere to the same formula that made
it such a success. The hidden-camera .....

Romeo And Juliet: Who Was Responsible
<view this essay>.... He was only provoking her more to take the potion, even if he did not know that he was. And Lady Capulet was not helping the situation when she said: “Talk not to me, for I’ll not speak a word. Do as thou wilt, for I have done with thee.” (3.5.303-204), she was only showing Juliet that she did not care, even though it is her responsibility as a parent to be there for her daughter. A responsibility that she did not act upon.
The Nurse is another example of someone who, in authority, did not show responsibility. She encourages Juliet to continue to see Romeo secretly, even after he has been banished. She even says to Juliet: “I’ll find Romeo to comfort you. .....

In this quote, Blanche denies being a drinker, even though Stella did not accuse her of it. This quote demonstrates that Blanche is a liar, lying to her own sister. Blanche is described as wearing “her silk brassiere and white skirt”(50) symbolizing peace and her moth-like appearance, although everywhere she goes, she causes problems. Blanche describes to Stanley that her astrological sign is “Virgo the Virgin”(77), meaning that she is chaste, despite the fact that she seduced her seventeen year-old student. Although Blanche “is a .....

Medea's Revenge

with the pain of killing her children.
As an introduction to the play, the status of women in Greek society
should be briefly discussed. In general, women had very few rights. In the
eyes of men, the main purposes of women in Greek society were to do housework
such as cooking and cleaning, and bear children. They could not vote, own
property, or choose a husband, and had to be represented by men in all legal
proceedings. In some ways, these Greek women were almost like slaves. There is
a definite relationship between this subordination of women and what transpires
in the play. Jason decides that he wants to .....

Macbeth: A Tale Of Two Theories
<view this essay>.... right and none of them wrong. But the
text of the play seems to imply that Macbeth is indeed responsible for his own
actions which are provoked by an unwillingness to listen to his own conscience,
the witches, and his ambition.
First, Macbeth ignores the voice of his own psyche. He knows what he is
doing is wrong even before he murders Duncan, but he allows Lady Macbeth and
greed to cloud his judgement. In referring to the idea of the murder of Duncan,
Macbeth first states,"We will proceed no further in this business"(I.vii.32).
Yet, after speaking with Lady Macbeth he recants and proclaims,"I am settled,
and bend up/Each corporal agent to this terrible .....

Is There Any Justification For Regarding Euripedes' Electra As An Inferior Tragedy?
<view this essay>.... they do commit the terrible crime of Matricide they do not really suffer any hugely adverse consequences. The play by no means has a happy ending, but nevertheless, though divine intervention Orestes and Electra escape from the scene of the crime relatively unscathed, not counting for the emotional suffering and guilt they feel over their actions.
In my opinion this does not, however, make Electra an inferior tragedy as for the criminals to die would, in a sense, provide an escape from what they have done. Instead they must live with the knowledge of their crime for the rest of their lives.
The tragedy in Electra is not simply confined to the action of the pl .....
