Parental Attitudes Towards Chi
<view this essay>.... to their birth order. Thus, birth order brings up variations in the way the parents treat their children. Differences in parental attitudes and behaviors, in turn, greatly influence a child’s personality. Parental attitudes and behaviors refer to the way parents treat their children with regard to a child’s birth order. Although birth order and parental attitudes and behaviors tend to influence a child’s personality, a child’s place in the family does not explain everything about that child. Whether a child happens to be a firstborn, a lastborn, or somewhere in between, parents need to become aware of stereotyping by looking beyond it, and attempti .....

Vegetarianism
<view this essay>.... one's diet in order to be healthy. It has been aptly demonstrated that the typical Western diet contains too much fat. Eliminating meat from the diet is one way to reduce fat, but it is not the only way. Vegetarian diets have also been shown to increase the risk for nutrient deficiencies. Children are particularly vulnerable and can lead to growth problems. Vegetarian children often fail to grow as well as their omnivorous counterparts despite protein intakes.
Ecological arguments against omnivorous and carnivorous eating are little more than an attempt by those from the less popular animal "rights" movement to ride the coattails of the more popular envir .....

Communication In The Millenium
<view this essay>.... away, and maybe for the better, we should look at how far things have already come, especially in the way that we talk and communicate with each other.
How many times have we heard about “the good old days” when things were “so much simpler?” When the only communication possible was telegrams, telephone calls, and writing letters. All of those mentioned ways of communication hasn’t become totally obsolete yet, but with all the current technologies, such as the Internet, email, and video-conferencing, it would make most people back in the “good old days” stare wide-eyed and shake their heads in disbelief. How would one even begin to explain modems and server .....

Affecting How We Think
<view this essay>.... Superhighway, society has been able to view itself objectively. The men and women who present media to us: radio personalities, news anchors, and actors included, are given the responsibility of showing us society as it is. Sometimes, it is argued, this task is not done adequately. And so, arises an issue: can objectivity and subjectivity in the media affect how we approach issues? And, more importantly, can the information presented affect the value system of a society?
The media is so pervasive it is hard to believe they do not have important effects on society. Yet, many people do not believe that the media have personally influenced them or have .....

Betrand Russell: The Problems Of Philosophy
<view this essay>.... serve a purpose for everyone.
In the first line, Russell is clearly contrasting his own belief in the inherent
uncertainty of philosophy with the attitude of those people who dedicate their
lives to a search for the "right" theory, in an attempt to understand the
"truth" about human nature. He argues that, were a philosopher to write the
perfect, unanswerable theory, the solution to life, the universe and everything,
then philosophy would itself become responsible for inducing the very mental
laziness which it should help us to avoid.
Disagreement and debate between the adherents of rival theories is, moreover,
essential to the health of philosophy. Just as m .....

Explain What Is Meant By The T
<view this essay>.... number of people smoking doubled when the price of cigarettes halved in the 1960’s. This does not mean to say that following a similar price reduction today, the response would be the same, as advertising has increased the awareness of the dangers of smoking. Such a difference in behaviour patterns can be explained when we consider that economics is a social science, concerned with people, who have a free will and cannot be made subject to laws. This also explains why many models are generalised, dealing with trends in economic behaviour rather than the choice of the individual, as this varies and is difficult to surmise and predict.

The World Without Cars
<view this essay>.... different place. The loss of cars would affect transportation, the economy, health, cultural development and the environment. Transportation would greatly be affected if we did not have cars. Especially in America since automobiles are the number one source of transportation. Life of everyday Americans would be slowed down. Children getting to school and employees getting to work would be a much harder task. The economy would be hurt if we did not have cars. Manufacturers would have a harder time transporting their goods. Another way of moving goods from city to city would need to be found. Also, cultural development would be affected if their w .....

Is There Really A Pet Overpopulation Problem?
<view this essay>.... are as high as 12 million. I don't even want to do the math for that one.
Why is there such a rampant problem?
I have heard everything from "I want my kids to experience the miracle of birth" to "I don't want my dog's personality to change", to "my dog will get fat". Some people just don't realize how very easy it is for a male dog to 'find' a female in heat ( where there is a will, there is a way, and there IS a will!) or when a female will come into heat*.
Then there are those who think that they can make a quick buck by breeding and selling puppies (or kittens). People assume that each offspring is worth X amount of dollars, and wow - multiply that .....
