The Divine Comedy
<view this essay>.... moral comedy, and was written to make readers evaluate their own morals. The journey was to show readers what could happen if they live a sinful life, or if they live a godlike life.
“In the middle of the journey of our life I came to my senses in a dark forest, for I had lost the straight path. Ah! How hard a thing it is to tell what this wild and rough and difficult wood was, which in thought renews my fear! (Alighieri, 1)” This passage tells us that Dante is lost in the middle of the woods, and he is in the middle of his life. The reason he gives for being lost is that he had become inattentive and was not paying attention to where he was going. .....

Lady Macbeth
<view this essay>.... experienced. says “Hell is murky.” She is remembering the murder that she and Macbeth committed. She states, “Yet who would have thought the old man to have had so much blood in him?” remembering how bloody the Macbeth’s hands were. She felt horrified that they had committed this evil act of murder.
These two quotes go together because first she is asking to be filled with the darkness of hell and then says later in the play that hell is murky. These two quotes show that she had asked to be filled with hell and then later after committing these sinful actions she describes hell as being dark and unclear.

Training
<view this essay>.... someone?
The first thing that I am going to write about is just training in
general. According to the book, "experts predict that during the rest of
the century over half of the job content of all positions will change, and
at least a third of existing jobs will disappear." This means that a
smaller amount of people are going to need to know how to do a lot more
different things than they already know how to do. And to do all of these
new jobs they are all going to have to be trained in some manner or another.
Then they are going to have to be able to train others on how to do these
new positions.
Management executives are now pushing for more eff .....

Sacred Hoops
<view this essay>.... is focusing your full attention on what's happening right this moment. This sparked my interest greatly. I mean we can all benefit from a little focus, right?
So, I began reading the book. To my astonishment, I found the book to be very interesting and read most of it in a single sitting. Using the principles of Zen Buddhism and the ideals of the Lakota Sioux warrior, Phil Jackson teaches his players how to work hard even when the spotlight is on someone else. The book continues on subjects like religion, spirituality, and unity among the team and with ones self. These were all new concepts for me. Though I embraced the ideas, I was skeptical of the prac .....

Comparison: "The Jade Peony", "Horses Of The Night", Masque Of The Red Death"
<view this essay>.... I intend to fine wether or not the author of
these storys was sucessful in making it readable in the sence of
comprehanceability and fluency.
The first story I will be discussing is called "The Jade Peony" by
Wayson Choy. I did not enjoy what this story was about nor did I enjoy reading
it. Luckly it was short, If It wasnt I doubt i would have made it throught the
whole thing. The main problem with this story was the inconsistance of the
sentences, some sentences were too long while others were very short. The only
way to truly fix this story would be to re-write it.
The second story I chose to write about is called "Horses of the Nigh .....

Things Fall Apart 3
<view this essay>.... and characters, along the lines, of Irish Poet, William Butler Yeat's "The Second Coming". Achebe repeatedly emphasizes the theme of one entity being impacted upon by another, and ultimately being destroyed or changed drastically. Herein, lies the thrust of his book, that of things falling apart.
This is the extract from W.B. Yeat's poem, "The Second Coming" wherefrom Chinua Achebe chose the title of his book, and with good reason:
Turning and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the center cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world.
These lines form the epigraph of the novel, and are a conduit for expr .....

Their Eyes Were Watching God -
<view this essay>.... Neale Hurston, Janie's marriages to Logan Killicks, Jody Starks, and Tea Cake seem like the most crucial elements in her development as a woman.
Throughout the story Hurston uses different men to portray the continuum that men fall into in their society. Janie's marriage to Logan Killicks seems like the first stage in her development as a woman. She hopes that her forced marriage with Logan would end her loneliness and desire for love. Right from the beginning, the loneliness in the marriage shows up when Janie sees that his house feels like a "lonesome place like a stump in the middle of the woods where nobody had ever been" (Hurston 20). This description .....

Poetry In Motion - Langston Hu
<view this essay>.... and life of the black race and its plight "They send me to eat in the kitchen When company comes But I laugh…And grow strong." (Lines 3-8). The blues was such a prominent part of his life that he dropped out of Columbia University after two semesters to pursue the night life of Harlem.
Though at times Langston was a radical writer and addressed the issues with force, he also expressed great pride in being black and having a culture such as it. He was very proud and his poetry reflected that. He is known as a figure of hope in the black race's eyes, his poem inspired pride and strngth in most african americans who also struggle with the plight of racism and seg .....
