He also becomes belligerent when Alan’s mother tries to include religion in Alan’s life. It seems his father has strong emotional reactions to anything he can’t control or understand. Alan sensed that reaction and because of it he turned a horse into a god. It’s almost like Alan was drawn to anything his father did not like because he did not want to be like his father. In the hopes of finding freedom and fortune, they left for America, bringing many members of Ona’s family with them. After arriving in America, they are taken to Packingtown to find work. This said, Charlotte’s behaviour in Charlotte’s Web, is what we might expect to see from a human being. Her spinning of the web with a word or two in it is not common activities for spiders. While examining the animal’s actions, partially sheds light on the stories that we are reading. It helps unravel the ideas and advance the plot. It does not however, give us insight into the behaviour, specifically the god-like actions that demonstrate anthropomorphism in both these novels. Also, he obsesses over the young girl across the street in an unhealthy way. It almost seems as if he could grow to be a psychopath. He follows behind her on the way to school, waits for her before school, and watches her from his door. The young girl on the other hand, lives in the outskirts of town, if not pure country. She does not play with anybody but a younger brother she has. She worships her father and neglects her mother. She also has no respect for her mother, although later in the stor .....

As the character Ransom walked across England the reader felt as if beside him the whole way. When he visited Mars, even with the bizarre scenery it seemed so real. "He saw nothing but colours - colours that refused to form themselves into things. Moreover, he new nothing yet well enough to see it: you can not see things till you know roughly what they are.
