<view this essay>.... separate the cultural context involved in the poem from one century to the next. The poem was probably unrecognizable from its original state after two hundred years of oral tradition that would have changed its content drastically. The storyline of the poem, the battles and significant events, probably maintained most of their identity while the cultural context took on another form more suited to the current culture of the people. By the time it was written, in 1000, the poem was probably most representative of the tenth century culture yet it still managed to tell a story similar to the original version. Woman To Man
<view this essay>.... a well regarded poet, she had achieved a good reputation for expressing herself, and therefore could write a subjective poem about this issue.
The main idea of this poem, is based upon female sexuality and sensuality, and that sex is symbolic of life, or death if pregnancy fails.
The title seems to mean now, "Woman to Man" as if the woman is offering herself to the Man, offering her body to create a child, through the act of sex. It also means that the woman has something to give to the man, not only the pleasure, but through blood and pain, a child.
The language compliments the mood of this poem, as it varies from a sad and melancholy cry, to a voice .....

The Positive Influence Of Gods In The Odyssey
<view this essay>.... pitied Odysseus as he was buffeted about in this
miserable way" (Homer 69). This shows that Ino pities the man and wants
to give him a helping hand. Goddesses who want to help mortals, are a
positive influence on them. Ino says, "'Here take this veil and stretch it
under your chest: it is a divine thing, and while you have it there is no
fear that you will drown or come to any harm'" (Homer 69). This is a good
example of how a goddess can help a mortal. By giving Odysseus the veil
she protects him, and for Odysseus, this is a positive interference.
Though some goddesses, like Ino, help mortals reach places, others, such as
Hermes, warn them against dan .....

Bless Me Ultima - Tony
<view this essay>.... I say Tony is brave, I don't mean that he fights demons or kill dragons, but rather that he stands for what he believe is right and he is not afraid to go to extreme measures to protect the people he love. A Farewell To Arms 2
<view this essay>.... Henry's sudden solitude. "What happens now?" I felt, as I so often do when I finish a book that I want to go on forever. This is infinitely more difficult with a book that has no conclusion, and FTA leaves a reader not only emotionally exhausted but also just as alone as Henry and with nowhere to go. The entire work was aware of where it was going and what was going to happen next, and then to stop the way it did was unfair. Now, I've read enough essays while deciding which would be the topic for my class presentation that I know many people see that the unfairness of life and the insignificance of our free will are apparently the most important themes in the b .....
