King Lear--a Man More Sinned A
<view this essay>.... keep his entourage and that he would stay with each daughter for a certain amount of time. Goneril, annoyed with her father’s impulsive temper, refuses to put up with him and orders Oswald and all other servants to provoke Lear so she would have a chance to rid of him:
“Put on what weary negligence you please,
You and your fellows. I’d have it come to question.” (I, iii, 13-14)
Goneril’s act demonstrates her impatience and her revengeful nature as she wanted Lear to suffer from whatever she had to put up with him before. In Act 1, Scene 4, Goneril complains about Lear’s impulsive behaviour and constant moodswing:

Fahrenheit 451: The Meetings Between Montag And Clarisse

Darkness. He was not happy. He was not happy. He said the words to
himself. He recognized this as the true state of affairs " (12). Montag's
awareness is triggered at the point in which Clarisse states " But you're
just a man, after all " (7). This statement by Clarisse makes Montag think
of a time when he was a child during power failure, and he wishes it not
to end.
In Montag's second meeting with Clarisse, the two of them find a
dandelion and Clarisse tells Montag of rubbing it under his chin. Clarisse
explains " If it rubs off, it means I'm in love "(22). Clarisse rubs the

he is not sure if he wants to keep writing because he is afraid to get
caught. He writes about war and how it affects the children. Winston
does not think the Party should allow the hangings to be public. Winston
writes about when men will be free, when the truth exists and when what is
done cannot be undone. Also, Winston thinks about Goldstein. He says how
Goldstein has a lot of influence on some people. Still, the majority of
the people hate and despise him. He is always the face of hate in the Two

Critical Analysis Of Huckleber
<view this essay>.... other brothers on both sides goes for one another... and
by and by everybody's killed off, and there ain't no more feud"(Twain
109). Pap, Huck's father, was very mean to everyone, but especially
Huck. Pap cannot read and does not want his son to be better than
himself. Pap doesn't like the fact that Widow Douglas is trying to
"civilize" him. Pap comes home every night and physically abuses
Huck. During the day Pap would lock Huck in the cabin until he
returned in order to keep Huck from escaping. Nothing can harm a
child more than neglect and abuse.

Symbolism In Camus' "The Plague"
<view this essay>.... Through the eyes
of all of his characters, the author answers questions like: "Why be
optimistic?", "Why be moral?", "Why live if we are just going to die?", and
"Why hope?".
Camus contends that there are human values that are good in themselves;
it is just good to be moral. In this essay I plan to connect the characters,
symbolism, and my personal feelings and values with this idea. Such evidence as
people being good to a neighbor in time of need or people volunteering to adopt
a family for the holidays are many times based on a desire to simply do
something good, not a necessarily a desire to please a god or receive a reward.
Finally, without a god (or eve .....

The Color Purple: African-American And Racism
<view this essay>.... like an animal. After slavery was abolished, Colored people still had to deal with racial discrimination and hatred. If this sounds rough, black women had it worse. African-American women had to deal with all the previously mentioned things, but they were women too! Females were oppressed almost as bad as the blacks. White women were not able to vote until the 1920. Therefore colored women had a double edged sword, they had to fight for freedom, but not be to dominate as to effect the men. Alice Walker's The Color Purple is a good example of colored women's plight. Three obstacles black women had to overcome to be able to express themselves were Raci .....
