Accordion Crimes: Dismal Reality Checks
<view this essay>.... a logging chain in a big hand,
the red shine of the engorged faces, a man with one blue eye and one yellow eye.
Even then he hoped to be saved. He was innocent!
Pinse held his revolver loosely in his hand, had lost his staff in the
rush up the stairs, so crowded it had been, looked at the Sicilians knotted in
the corner, their wicked eyes glittering, some of them pleading and praying -
the cowards! He thought of the rat king, fired. Others fired.
A barrage of bullets and shot of every caliber and weight tore the
Sicilians. The accordion maker reared twice and fell back.” A character that
has a great deal of intrigue is the accordion maker. The most interest .....

Interview With The Vampire
<view this essay>.... so vividly as if in front of my eyes, as if I were really part of the character.
I think Anne Rice had created the most successful characters. Throughout the whole book, you can really look at the conflicts between them. They are, somehow, attached or attracted by each other, both the mortals and the immortals. Their love and hate and struggles go to such degrees, and yet limited by their nature, it was almost impossible to understand it at all. I believe Anne Rice had used those characters to express humanity, the whole plot was some kind of an irony. Something like a metaphor, though she exaggerated everything to make it poignant enough.

Slaughter House Five: Time Travel
<view this essay>.... dreaming. Both of these are reasonable explanations behind the book. One way to analyze this is to pick a particular point of view. The way I believe that Vonnegut is telling the story is through a dream sequence. I believe that Billy is dreaming and that when he comes across a disturbing memory he leaps into another time period, another dream. By leaping through time you stay out of reality. It's like being in another world without actually being there. This is the best and easiest way to get away from in all.
Billy's seems to have many unpleasant memories and each time one surfaces he goes back or forward in time. If someone died, or something didn't .....

Mice Of Men

After being scolded, Lennie is very remorseful about what he did. Once, after being yelled at Lennie says, “I pinched their heads a little and then they was dead- because they were so little (13).” Lennie’s remorse is probably more for upsetting George than it is for actually killing the animal.
Another way that death and loss is evidenced by this novel is when Lennie killed Curley’s wife. When Lennie is in the barn (after killing his new puppy) Curley’s wife came into the barn and came on to .....

Inferno
<view this essay>.... allegoric symbols of betrayal, violence and hunger. Later in the poem, those major sins described by the author in the circles of hell. Betrayal, the most serious sin that the person can commit, is represented by one of the three beasts. Dante puts sinners of that kind in the last, most horrible circle of hell. A lion is a symbolic creature for this sin. Each beast, like everything else in the poem, displays precise meaning of each sin by its nature. The second by its significance is hunger, which is represented by a she-wolf. This beast is the symbol of all the cravings such as sex, food and money. However, the first beast that Dante sees is a leopard. His .....
