Putting up
Our life—His Porcelain—
Like a Cup—
Discarded of the Housewife—
Quaint—or Broke—
A newer Sevres pleases—

I could not die—with You—
For One must wait

She considers suicide as an option for relieving the pain she endures, but decides against it. The narrator, more than likely Emily herself, realizes that death will leave her even further away from the one that she love ....
