Since they were free from the British, they wanted to create their own system of government where tyranny would not be a problem. Originally the states were under the Articles of Confederation, but this document gave no power to the cent ....
Part 2 of Essay .... would not like paying two state taxes. They also argued that a state tax was unfair since each state was different with different needs. Yet another argument was the new central government would be far away from the people and that a small number of representatives would lead to the election of the wealthy and well known, and that would lead to a national power.
