.... They lived on farms and when the crops didn't grow their menus changed a lot. Many of these people lived in the Dust Bowl. A stretch of land in between the Mississippi and Rocky Mountains. The Dust Bowl was called that because of a massive drought that hit during the Great Depression years. Winds carried all of the top soil away and blocked roads.
