Lawrence's "Snake": An Analysis
Part 1 of Essay
In D.H. Lawrence's poem entitled "Snake," he examines the
differences between feelings and education. He expresses this theme in
three ways. The speaker knows that he should kill the snake, he questions
his own manliness, and tries to hit it with a log.

it cowardice, that I dared not kill it?" This line from the poem says that
the speaker is worried that he will not be called a man because he did not
