Advances In AI
<view this essay>.... to the individual and becomes useless. There is no doubt that there are universal patterns of what could be considered intelligence and it is these patterns which may give us insight. Because these patterns of ‘intelligence’ could be linked to humanity’s evolution, much time is devoted to find what forces or factors are responsible for them.
There are few who would still adhere to a model of Nature vs. Nurture rather substituting the vs. for via. Both environmental and genetic factors contribute to human intelligence, however which of these, if any, is more important in shaping intelligence is a source of fierce disagreement. It seems apparent that those who .....

A System Analyst
<view this essay>.... project. They
write specifications, of what is to be in the final report. They do flow
charting, specifications for the programmers of the report, and development
control.
Development control is where the Systems Analyst works with the
programmers along a critical path. A critical path is like a due date, if
the report is to be done in thirty days, the Systems Analyst makes sure the
report is done in thirty days. The Systems Analyst also follows the first
analysis of when the project will be finished. The critical path also
calculates how many man hours it will take to finish, etc. A critical path
flowchart also helps the programmers along. .....

Software Piracy
<view this essay>.... software industry in excess of US$15 billion.
Piracy is widely practiced and widely tolerated. In some countries, legal
protection for software is nonexistent (i.e., Kuwait); in others, laws are
unclear (i.e. Israel), or not enforced with sufficient commitment (i.e., the
PRC). Significant piracy losses are suffered in virtually every region of the
world. In some areas (i.e., Indonesia), the rate of unauthorized copies is
believed to be in excess of 99%.
Why do People Use Pirated Software?
A major reason for the use of pirated software is the prices of the
REAL thing. Just walk into a CompUSA, Electronics Boutique, Computer City,
Egghead, etc and .....

What Is Virtual Reality
<view this essay>.... is a way for humans to visualize, manipulate and interact
with computers and extremely complex data"
The visualization part refers to the computer generating visual, auditory
or other sensual outputs to the user of a world within the computer. This
world may be a CAD model, a scientific simulation, or a view into a
database. The user can interact with the world and directly manipulate
objects within the world. Some worlds are animated by other processes,
perhaps physical simulations, or simple animation scripts. Interaction with
the virtual world, at least with near real time control of the viewpoint,
in my opinion, is a critical test for a 'virtual rea .....

Battle Of The Bytes: Macintosh Vs. Windows 95
<view this essay>.... over the earlier versions of
Windows, and of course over DOS, but it still didn't compete against the ease of
use on a Mac. The Windows 95 interface is much better than Windows 3.x. It
borrows some from the Macintosh interface and has improved on it.
Some improvements are the ability to work with folder icons that
represent directories and subdirectories in DOS. Windows 95, unlike the Mac,
logically groups data and resources. A Taskbar menu lets you call up and switch
between any software application at any time. Thus feature is better than the
Mac's because its use is more obvious. It clearly shows what is running and
allows you to switch programs .....

Robotics
<view this essay>.... of real robots is rarely as dramatic, but where developments in robotics
may lead is beyond our imagination.
Robots exist today. They are used in a relatively small number of
factories located in highly industrialized countries such as the United States,
Germany, and Japan. Robots are also being used for scientific research, in
military programs, and as educational tools, and they are being developed to aid
people who have lost the use of their limbs. These devices, however, are for
the most part quite different from the androids, or humanlike robots, and other
robots of fiction. They rarely take human form, they perform only a limited
number of se .....

Truth And Lies About The Computer Virus
<view this essay>.... A anti-virus company obtains a copy of the virus and studies it. The
anti-virus company makes an "unbiased" decision about the virus and then
disclose their findings to the public. The problem with the current system is
that there are no checks and balances. If the anti-virus company wants to make
viruses seem worse all they have to do is distort the truth. There is no
organization that certifies wheather or not a virus is real. Even more
potentially harmful is that the anti-virus companies could write viruses in
order to sell their programs. Software companies have and do distort the truth
about viruses. "Antivirus firms tend to count even the most insign .....
