The Sun
<view this essay>.... discovery of the sun came in 1814. A German
physicist by the name of Joseph von Fraunhofer developed the spectroscope.
This tool is used to beak down light in to wavelengths. Isac Newton had a
mild idea of this in his day, but nothing of this accuracy or detail. The
German Scientist paved the road for theoretical explanations of the star.
Some of the most recent tools that have been invented to help study the sun
are the coronagraph, the spectroheliograph, the magnetograph, and the
spectrograph. These tools have enabled us to better understand the
magnetic field of the sun and individual characteristics of the sun.

Dolphins 2
<view this essay>.... Greece and were told by great philosophers. One such story claims that Odysseus’ son, Telemachos, was saved from drowning by a dolphin. Dolphins have also been accounted for in writing. In the play Twelfth Night by Shakespeare, a singer by the name of Arion was sentenced to be thrown into the sea by pirates. Before he was thrown into the sea, he asked for one last wish: to sing a song and then jump overboard himself. The pirates granted him this wish, and he began to sing a high-pitched song. When he was finished with his song, he jumped overboard and was saved by a dolphin which carried him two hundred miles to shore. Obviously, dolphins and humans .....

Arthritis 2
<view this essay>.... and tears occur where tendons are inserted in bone. New planes of motion contrary to normal anatomical planes appear, followed by enzymatic degradation of the tissues. Ligaments become lax, losing their tensile strength. The cartilage that caps the ends of bones, and which is normally four times more slippery than Teflon, loses that slipperiness and becomes perforated by ulcers.
Many of the changes that occur in the joints of people with rheumatoid arthritis and osteo-arthritis are assumed to be caused by a disease process, when in fact they are often a consequence of relative immobility. These findings underscore the enormous importance of exercise i .....

Kangaroos -
<view this essay>.... Its legs are not as big or strong because they do not leap as much. Therefore, their body weight has been reduced, allowing them to be more efficient with they water they can find. They also have wider feet than the kangaroos living in wetter climates. This allows the kangaroo to be able to have more traction in the higher elevations.
The kangaroos that live in the coastal regions also have several special adaptations. They have wider feet to allow them to walk is shallow water. They can eat several different types of sea plants. They can do this because they have a higher tolerance to salt than normal kangaroos.
Kangaroos that live in forests .....

Hammerhead Sharks
<view this essay>.... and nostrils are at the ends of the hammer. There
are many species of Hammerheads. There are eight living species of hammerheads.
The following four are the main categories:
1. Scalloped hammerhead (Sphyrna lewini)-Pectoral fins are tipped with black
this grey shark. The maximum length is about 12 feet.
2. Bonnethead (Spyrna tiburo)-With a head shaped like a shovel the bonnethead
rarely grows more than four feet long. This shark is commonly seen inshore.
3. Smooth hammerhead (Sphyrna zygaena)-Bronze with dusky fin tips, it can grow
to thirteen feet.
4. Great hammerhead (Sphyrna mokarran)-Attaining a length of a possible 18 feet,
this is the largest .....

Microwaves
<view this essay>.... It's the same as what carries long distance phone calls and
cablevision.
Hitler's army had its own version of radar, using radio waves. But
the trouble with radio waves is that their long wavelength requires a
large, cumbersome antenna to focus them into a narrow radar beam. The
British showed that microwaves, with their short wavelength, could be
focussed ina narrow beam with an antenna many times smaller. This enabled
them to make more effective use of radar since an antenna could be carried
on aircraft, ships and mobile ground stations.
This characteristic of microwaves, the efficiency with which they are
concentrated in a narrow beam, is one re .....

Properties Of Water
<view this essay>.... are also very important to water's ability to
absorb heat, as without hydrogen bonds water would have a boiling point of -80
degrees C and a freezing point of -100 degrees C.
In reality, however, water has a boiling point of 100 degrees C and a
freezing point of 0 degrees C. The amount of energy needed to raise the
temperature of one gram of water by one Celsius degree is called a Calorie. One
Calorie is about twice as much energy as you need to warm one gram of most other
fluids by the same amount. This makes water much better for regulating the
temperatures of animals and the environment.
Water also has a very high heat of vaporization. Converting one .....

Crystals
<view this essay>.... than 99.9 wt%. To obtain this purity an efficient solid-liquid separation is of major importance, because the themselves are almost pure. To optimize the separation efficiency large with a small size distribution have to be formed.
The operation of crystallization is exacting. Large—capacity evaporators are not suited to the careful control and flexible manipulation required for a successful ‘strike’, or actual crystallization, of solid sugar . For this purpose, the concentrated liquor is transferred from the evaporators to the ‘pan.’ The pan is essentially a simple vacuum evaporator in which the removal of water continues until the concentration is appropri .....
