Genetic Engineering
<view this essay>.... the door way to biological solutions for
world problems, as well as aid for body malfunctions. Genetic engineering is a
fundamental tool for leading the world of medicine into the future; therefore,
it is crucial to continue research in this field.
Today's research in genetic engineering is bringing about new methods for curing
and treating major medical illnesses. The Human Genome Project has allowed
geneticists to map the genes of human beings. This project is far from complete,
as the DNA sequence of humans is extremely long, yet it will eventually show
geneticists which genes are responsible for certain inherited diseases.
Identified genes could be repair .....

The Luminescence Of Black Light
<view this essay>.... energy when ultra-violet light is allowed to fall upon them. This is
called luminescence. In most cases, the wave length of the light radiated is
longer than that of the ultra-violet excitation but a few exceptions have been
found.
The quantum theory attempts to explain this property by contending that
a certain outside excitation causes an electron to jump from one orbit to
another. It is then in an unstable environment causing it to fall back into its
original orbit. This process releases energy, and if it is in the visible part
of the spectrum, we have a transient light phenomenon. Ultra-violet light is an
exciting agent which causes luminescence to o .....

Exploring The Mind
<view this essay>.... evolve, is it also a natural thing that everyone experiences on some level, or is it something that society teaches us to do for the greater good of the human population.
Instinctive thinking is probably at its purest state in children. Children from 1 to 4 years of age have a very limited knowledge of how to conduct themselves in society. They have not had time to learn the social standards of their time. So with this limited knowledge, children will consistently react to situations in a similar way that can only be explained by an instinctive nature. Have young children changed their behavior since the 1700's? I suppose any child from any culture at .....

Endangered Manatee
<view this essay>.... Marine biologists have been unable to find the cause of
these deaths. They suspect that the Red Tide off of the coast of southwest
Florida has some connection with these mysterious deaths. A red tide is a
bloom of flagellates which are deadly to marine life, but cause no harm to the
human population. Another possible cause is a virus that is unknown to
scientists. Many people believe that this problem will eventually stop an the
manatee population will flourish, but others are rather pessimistic.
Ecological Problem: The manatee population is quickly dying off and
unless they make an astonishing comeback, they will soon be extinct.
Ecological Solution: .....

Gravity
<view this essay>.... is the force air exerts on a moving object. This force acts in the opposite direction to that of the object's motion. In the case of a falling object, air resistance pushes up as pulls down, which causes the object to slow down. When Galileo's experiment was repeated on the moon, the hammer and the feather hit the ground at the exact same time. This is due to
the fact that the moon has no atmosphere. Therefore, air resistance doesn't exist on the moon. Also, the amount of air resistance on an object depends on the speed, size, shape, and density of the object. The larger the surface area of the object, the greater the amount of air resistance on it. This is .....

Our Radiant Planet- Depletion Of The Ozone Layer
<view this essay>.... (CFC's). At ground level, these molecules are very stable
and have many uses in industrial and domestic applications, such as in spray
cans, industrial solvents, degreasing compounds, and cooling in fridges. However
when released into the stratosphere, such molecules can be broken down by
energetic light rays (UV-C radiation) in a reaction that liberates an atom of
chlorine, which destroys ozone by oxidising with the Ozone molecules, forming
Cl-O and Oxygen. One atom of chlorine can destroy 10,000 ozone molecules! Atoms
containing bromine, nitrous oxide, and hydrogen oxide radicals are also
primarily dangerous. As a result, the Ozone in t .....

Endangered Species 3
<view this essay>.... they're gone forever. Many reasons are killing more and more species every year either from human activity or natural disaaters. One way or the other, species like the Silver-Back Gorilla or the Black-footed Ferret almost face extinction. Here is a list of endangered animals:Bottle Dolphin, Peacock, Wolf, Emperor Penguin, Koala, Reticulated Giraffe, Snowy Owl, and unfortunately hunderds of more. The death of these animals each year are all different and sometimes so simple.
There are two different kinds of causes that drastically cut Down the number of these endangered species:
Direct Causes
Direct Causes is when the animals are purposely hunted, trapped, fis .....

Preserving Our Earth
<view this essay>.... areas should be available for
the public. But what is to be offered through this? Many recreational
activities I presume, but what about our biggest environmental concern -
pollution.
Pollution is so widespread throughout our world that it is overwhelming.
Drinking water supplies are contaminated with runoff from nearby factories and
even with pollutants from our own backyards. Demands of skyscrapers and
condominiums wipe out our decreasing rainforests. This drudges wildlife from
its natural home and into the havoc that is ours. Millions of acres of
beautiful land are destroyed daily to satisfy the needs of mankind.
But has anyone contemplated the ne .....
