The History Of Christianity
<view this essay>.... is to try
to be like Jesus and commit as little sin as possible. When Jesus was 32
years old, the Romans crucified him, which fulfilled many prophets' “
visions” made hundreds of years before. In Christianity's holy book, the
Bible, it is said that Jesus will come back and save all of his followers
and defeat Satan, or the devil. This will be known as the second coming, or
the rapture.
The Bible is Christianity's holy book. This book is divided up into
two parts, the Old Testament and the New Testament. The New Testament was
written about and after the birth of Jesus Christ. The two sections are
divided up into 66 separate books in all. The most famous bo .....

Noah’s Arc, The Rip-Off
<view this essay>.... same thing; teach obedience to God.
Many aspects of both stories are the same. Both sagas start with the earth being extremely populated, with no foreseen break in the continuation of a booming culture. The earth was too full. People were rowdy and reckless. Crime was widespread and grew day to day. The difference pertaining to this, is the reason the flood was sent.
Noah’s story rules that the flood was sent because the earth had become corrupt and filled with violence, (Genisis, 6). The only way to destroy this violence was to drown everyone but the chosen few. These chosen few were hand-picked by God as good people to start a new, more wholesome an .....

God’s Expectations
<view this essay>.... expectations, he might punish them very harshly. Moses hit a rock instead of talking to it, and because of this, God did not let him into the land of Canaan. When Saul did not kill all of the Amalekites, God made David ruler instead of Saul, and Saul also died in battle. God told Adam and Eve not to pick the forbidden fruit, but Eve did and the punishment was the Original Sin. The Original Sin was when the serpent, woman, and man were given different punishments, because of the woman. The serpent would have to crawl on his belly, be enemies with mankind, and always have to fight with humans. The woman would have to bear children in pain, and man will domi .....

Three Important Qualities Of Christ's Life
<view this essay>.... there is no possible way that we could achieve such a goal. It is
impossible for humans to reach that goal. It says in the Bible "For
everyone falls short of the glory of God.". That right there is enough
proof to show that we are not worthy of his presence.
God is of the Spirit. He is not made of matter and mind, and he does
not possess a physical nature. Some think that God is that of a human.
There is no possible way that this could be, because in John 4:24 Jesus
speaks "God is spirit, and those who worship him just worship in spirit and
truth.". Even though Jesus had flesh was of the Spirit he still did have
matter. He had f .....

Do Christians Sin?
<view this essay>.... to be saying that
there is some kind of sin in us (v.8). That images sin as an entity. It
does not seem to be an action or a response, but a condition of existence
that we all take part in. Verse 9 talks about sin being removed from us in
Christ, but then v. 10 refers to the act of sin and the fact that we have
all been there. The author uses strong language to let the audience know
that we have all sinned and that there is sin in us. Chapter 2 begins with
an admonition to not sin, "but if anyone does sin," there is forgiveness in
Jesus Christ. Sin in this passage is something within us that we have all
at one time acted on, but now, as followers of Christ, m .....

Voodoo
<view this essay>.... the slaves continued to perform their
rituals in private. They transposed Catholic saints onto the tribal deities,
called loa, to please their owners. Instead of hindering the faith of the
slaves, the incorporation of the saints added something new to their religion.
Because of this they included into their rituals statues of the saints, candles,
and other Christian relics. It is combinations like this that form religions
such as Santeria, a blend of Voodoo and Spanish Catholicism, that proves what a
malleable religion it is. Voodoo has spread throughout the world into major
communities on Rio de Janeiro, New Orleans, Miami, and New York city. Vodoun

<view this essay>.... Sweden, and the United States, totaling over 49 years in their
own traditions and fellowship. On June 25, of 1957, the four churches held a
synod meeting in Cleveland, Ohio, to commit more fully to unity, liberty,
freedom in Christ, and the evangelism of the world. These groups, under the
head of the Uniting General Synod, became the United Churches of Christ. Today

By 1979, the roots of the CoC were firmly in place. It was then that Chuck
Lucas, a pastor at the Gainesville Church of Christ (mainline), met a young
college student, Kip McKean, and began discipling him. Kip was a brig .....

Halloween And Christianity
<view this essay>.... the time, that day did not have any real significance.
In the year of 998, the abbot of the monastery of Cluny in southern France, St.
Odilo added a celebration on November 2nd called All Souls Day. The new
celebration was a feast whose purpose was to recognize those in heaven and in
purgatory.
The tradition of dressing up in costumes on Halloween is derived from
the Feast of All Souls Day in France. During the 14th and 15th centuries when
Europe was hit by outbreaks of the bubonic plague, about half of its population
was wiped out. Since life spans were greatly shortened because of the plague,
Catholics began to focus on the after life. The number of Ma .....
