Chinese Arts And Crafts
<view this essay>.... all around us in nature, and instinctively respond to them" (10).
Architecture is another of the Chinese arts. The loveliest examples of Chinese buildings are the temples and the pagodas of China. The roofs are built out beyond the walls to keep the sunlight off the windows when the sun is high in summer, and to let it shine in when it is low in the winter.
Chinese music is used in theaters as part of plays. It is also sung by the Chinese in their own folk tunes and popular songs. Instruments and voices follow the same notes in unison, instead of blending in harmony, and the rhythms are typically Chinese. Chinese melodies are very different from .....

The Effects Of The Speeches Of Brutus And Antony
<view this essay>.... death. He
delivered a speech that convinced the Romans that the murder was unjust,
invoking their rebellion. Brutus, head of the conspiracy, also gave a good
speech, but the Romans didn't react to it. A battle erupted, and most of the
conspirators committed suicide. The styles of the two speeches were very
different from each other.
Brutus's speech was logical. It contained facts about Caesar's ambition.
He reminded the people that Caesar would have become a tyrant and would have
enslaved everyone. Brutus also explained that he didn't hate Caesar, but that
he loved Rome more. The people didn't understand, however. At one point, they
wanted to cr .....

Japanese Anime
<view this essay>.... American comics, but more thinking of TV shows).
Anime and culture
Children's anime and TV anime shows in Japan will sometimes depict death --- while the U.S. (on children's TV) seems determined to stay away from such realities of life. And, not surprisingly, much of Japanese anime includes scenes of students in class or doing homework, or of people working in their offices. The work ethic seems omnipresent in the background anime also tend to portray technology sympathetically, while some U.S. comics seem almost to avoid it, or revile it, or simplify it as much as possible. And one minor difference between Japanese anime and general superhero comics li .....

Movie: Anna And The King
<view this essay>.... been sent there, the palace to educate the king’s son, who also has little respect for women. Anna second purpose for her stay was to civilize the son by the British standards. Anna was quite bitter and stubborn because she did not like the way the king treated women and she had no problem relating that to him during the course of the movie. Although, the British were racist and practiced imperialism, they frowned on many of the Siamese practices. The king of the palace, King Mongkut was very controlling and was also a religious man who practiced Buddhism. Buddhism is a complex set of beliefs built around teaching of a single man. The king had told the Siames .....

Teletubbies!
<view this essay>.... freaks.
Another reason for the strange view of the show is that its not intended for young children but for infants. An infant does watch and under stand things the way that older children and adults do and the shows writers realize this and mold the show around this. Making the whole experience completely different and special for them. Adults find the show redundant in the actions and words of the characters but children after hearing or seeing something done repeatedly will learn that word or action, and do to the repetitiveness of the things said it encourages the children to pay attention to what people say.
As far as the characters go they’re stran .....

Hamlet: Shakespeare Tragic Hero
<view this essay>.... and not enough time acting. This is the
opposite of Shakespeare's play, Macbeth, in which the tragic hero spends
too much time acting, and not enough time thinking. Hamlet dwells too much
on whether or not to act on something, and by the time he decides to act,
it is too late. When Hamlet finally decides to kill Claudius, he sees him
praying and decides to wait longer. The next time he gets a chance to kill
Claudius he takes it, but by then it was too late. Hamlet was killed as
well. He could have prevented his downfall if it wasn't for his tragic
flaw.
Another reason Hamlet is a classic example of Shakespearean tragedy
is because it incorporates the i .....

A Man For All Seasons: Thomas More
<view this essay>.... As More saw it, King
Henry should not be allowed the divorce because his marriage had been
approved previously by the Pope.
I believe that Thomas More was treated unfairly in A Man For All
Seasons for two reasons. First, Henry promised to leave More out of the
divorce proceedings, and then he broke that promise. Second, More was
treated unjustly during his trials.
Early in the film, King Henry paid a visit to More, his chancellor.
During the visit, it became apparent that the King thought of Thomas as
more than a chancellor; he viewed More as a friend. Henry respected More's
opinion, and became extremely frustrated with his many attempts to persuade
More .....

Stand By Me: Review
<view this essay>.... in to when they were kids. Another example of this moodsetting is when Gordie enters his dead brother’s room. This tune is a sad and tear jerking. His brothers room was just as it was when he died and this reminded him of his brother. The tune stopped abruptly when his father came in and asked if he had found what he was looking for. The last example of moodsetting was when they found the dead body. This tune was played by a synthesizer. It was a very sad tune and was one that may have been played at a funeral at one point in time.
The other type of music I found was song scoring. Since the story took place in the 50’s of 60’s, most of the songs were .....
