Shakespeare's Hamlet
<view this essay>.... between Fortinbras and himself, and implying his desire to be more like Fortinbras in action. Hamlet admires Fortinbras for the mere fact that he is the head of state and he is control of a powerful army, while Hamlet can barely control himself. Fortinbras holds a position that Hamlet was destined for, yet Claudius intervened and took Hamlet’s rightful position. This fact may imply that Hamlet sees his father’s actions personified in Fortinbras. Although Hamlet seems to admire the dominance and will power that Fortinbras displays, he also criticizes him and his unattainable dream. “ The imminent death of twenty thousand men that for fantasy and trick of fame. .....

The Reasons Why Macbeth Is More Guilty By His Actions Then Lady Macbeth Is By Hers
<view this essay>.... actual
murdering, he was also the first person who thought about killing Duncan.
Furthermore he did some killing on his own. Lady Macbeth did not have any
involvement in these cases. Based on these facts, Macbeth would be found
more guilty than Lady Macbeth.
The very first murder in this story was committed on Duncan. This crime
was planned by both Macbeth and Lady Macbeth. The actual murder was done by
Macbeth, making him more guilty of the crime. Lady Macbeth just talked
about committing the crime, but she never actually went through with it nor
would she ever, and that is all that counts. Talking about committing the
incident is very different from act .....

Macbeth: Letter From Lady Macbeth To Macbeth
<view this essay>.... great that I lost touch with reason. When the
idea of murdering the king was put forth I know you were hesitant on acting, but
I just had to have my ambition fulfilled. So I pushed you and now I realise that
my persistence was not in our best interests, and I'm sorry for it. Perhaps if I
had left the decision to your judgement we would have been better off.
What I did I only did for you. For you to be king, how could I for see
that we would be worse off. Just the idea that you would be king "would cheer me
ever", but I knew I had to push you to fulfill your potential.
But doubt crept into my mind on the fateful night of Duncans murder. I

Hamlet: Duplicity
<view this essay>.... through the play. The reason for this teetering is directly
related to his inability to form a solid opinion about role playing. This
difficulty is not present, however, at the start of the play.
In the first act, Hamlet appears to be very straightforward in his actions
and inner state. When questioned by Gertrude about his melancholy
appearance, Hamlet says, "Seems, madam? Nay it is. I know not `seems.'
(1.2.76). This is to say "I am what I appear to be." Later In Act I,
Hamlet makes a clear statement about his state when he commits himself to
revenge. In this statement the play makes an easy to follow shift. This
shift consists of Hamlet givin .....

The Tragedy Of Julius Caesar: Brutus
<view this essay>.... for
someone to get close to a person of high rank is if he/she is close to
him/her. In many points of the play, Brutus was talking and next to Caesar.
Brutus also loves Caesar but fears his power. In the early acts of the
play, Brutus says to Cassius, "What means this shouting? I do fear the
people do choose Caesar for their king...yet I love him well."(act 1,
scene 2, ll.85-89), as he is speaking to Cassius. Brutus loves Caesar, but
would not allow him to "climber-upward...He then unto the ladder turns his
back..."(act 2, scene 1, ll.24,26). As the quote says, Brutus would not
allow Caesar to rise to power and then turn his back onto the people of
Rome. Aft .....

Stud Terkel’s Play “Working”
<view this essay>.... expressed great talent when describing the hardship of their job.
One of the character tales that really grabbed my attention was the Hooker. She has been a hooker ever since she was fifteen, and she got involved in the business while she was sitting in a coffee shop. One of her friends came by the coffee shop in a cab, and asked her if she wanted to make a quick two hundred bucks. And so, she did. At first, she was amazed at how easy it was to make a living as a trick. In the process of being a trick, she had developed her own philosophy about how all women are tricks just like her. She points out that women are taught at a very young age to be prostit .....

But as this charioteer lurched over towards me
I struck him in my rage...I killed him (1.2.764-772).
Oedipus met the King Laius on a bridge and was too proud to let him pass
first, and then the King pushed him out of the way. In a fit of rage, Oedipus
killed him. All the while, an old man, Teiresias, knew that it was King Laius
that Oedipus had killed. Oedipus didn't even know that it was King Laius that he
killed. In the future, when Teiresias tries to convince Oedipus that he is the
