<view this essay>.... a coastline. Fractals were brought to the public's attention by the work of French mathematician Benoit B. Mandelbrot in the 1970's. Mandelbrot discovered how to calculate fractal dimensions. The formula for fractal dimension is N=2D where N equals the number of copies of the original figure, which is calculated by doubling its size and D is the dimension. Mandelbrot named his creations fractals because each part is a fraction of the whole figure.

Violence 2
<view this essay>.... the amount of violence a kid sees in his or her childhood because the only way is to remove the kid’s eyes just so he or she couldn’t see the violence? Of course the kid can still hear the violence, so what are they going to do, cut off the kid’s ears too? After that, the kid would be safe from seeing and hearing violence. Law and order are two things that just seem like guidelines from which a kid bases his or her rebellion. Just like in Columbine High School there was a small .....

The Meaning Behind Marriage
<view this essay>.... New International Dictionary 1986, marriage is defined as "the statute of being united to a person of the opposite sex as husband and wife," or "and intimate close reunion." I am surprised that none of these dictionaries define marr .....

Smart Cards
<view this essay>.... Forum (1996).
The card itself tends to be similar in size to today's plastic payment card, except it has an actual silicon computer chip embedded in it. Great One.” Every one has heard the saying that records are made to be
broken, but it seems as though many of these records are out of reach for
today’s athletes. Are records made to be broken?
Sports over the years have changed dramatically, and so have the

have a different look than the players in the past. Today there are high-
tech weight rooms, and players use nutritional supplements. So why haven’t
they broke all these records? Is it because of the longer seasons or the
changing of the rules. Maybe they just a .....

<view this essay>.... according to their beliefs of how society works. Even though they are similar in the sense that they all study deviant behavior, each theory differs immensely.
Edwin Sutherland started the learning theory, or differential association, in 1939. He simply stated that deviance is "passed on from one to another in a genuine learning process" (p.87). The two main elements in his theory are intensity and priority. This meant that the earlier one is exposed to deviance and the more personal he/she is with the person committing the deviant acts, the more likely he/she is to commit the acts themselves. Sutherland concluded that "a person becomes delinquent .....
