Labyrinths And Mazes
<view this essay>.... mazes can provide excitement in books
you just can't put down, and puzzles which seem almost impossible to
solve for those people who test their minds to the limit for fun.
The word labyrinth comes from a Latin word, "labrys" which means
"double-axe". One can only speculate why they would call it that, but it
does make sense. Labyrinths were built to protect, but what if the person
trying to be protected was lost in it. A double-bladed axe would be

it does not defeat the allies. Labyrinths could be used to protect all
sorts of things. The Egyptians used them to protect riches and even .....

The Summa Teologica By Thomas
<view this essay>.... it is always
sinfuhatl to wage war? Whether it is lawful for Clerics and Bishops to fight? And whether it is lawful to fight on holy days? He answers each question
thoroughly but indecisively; however, when he answers the second question it
seems his conclusion have been manipulated in ways that can benefit the church
without making them look double sided with their teachings.
The second question is: Whether it is always sinful to wage war? In this
question Aquinas states in his objection (1), “It would seem that it is always
sinful to wage war because punishment is not inflicted except for sin. Now
those who wage war are threatened by .....

“The number one killer of smokers is heart disease” (Bailey 135). Not only that but also, “Cigarette smoking accounts for 30% of all heart disease deaths” (Kim and Saltzberg 1). Carbon monoxide in cigarette smoke causes the amount of cholesterol clogging the arteries to rise dramatically. Smoking also makes the walls of the arteries harden which increases the chance for the artery to rupture. .....

What Is Radar
<view this essay>.... earth. They can find such
"targets" even in darkness, smoke, clouds, fog, or rain.
Radar is also used in weather prediction to locate storm systems. An
airplane can carry a radar setet to aid in determining the airplane's
ground speed. Ships can carry radar to detect icebergs, other ships, and
aircraft.
Radar can do more than find a target. It can tell how fast and in
which direction the target is moving. This information can be used to
direct the firing of guns and missiles to protect a country against attack.
In peacetime, radar can help navigate ships, land planes in a fog, and
guide astronauts. Radar can help control street traffic and .....

According to the book, “if the assertion means that they do not allow their judgments respecting the rightness or wrongness of an action to be influenced by their opinion of the qualities of the person who does it, this is a complaint not against , but against having any standard of morality at all; for certainly no ethical standard decides an action to be good or bad because it is done by a good or a bad man, still less because done by an amiable, a brave, or a benevolent man, or the contrary.”

Cellular Phone Hazards
<view this essay>.... creating a whole new array of potentially hazardous distractions that must be better understood," said National Highway Traffic Safety Association (NHTSA) Administrator Ricardo Martinez, MD. (Moulder).
Though there are concerns about driver distraction, the benefits of cell phones definitely outweigh the problems. Quicker conveyance of information about road hazards, congestion or problem drivers allows authorities to respond faster. Also, phone-equipped drivers are able to summon help in the event of mechanical difficulties or other roadside mishaps. Though more research is needed, previous NHTSA studies suggest is a primary or contributing factor in as ma .....

Greek Gods And Human Connectio
<view this essay>.... “When Zeus looked down from Mount Olympus and fire gleaming among Prometheus’ mortals, he controlled the fire in his heart. With cruel laughter he decided how he would punish the mankind” (Rosenberg and Baker 106). Sometimes it is not a direct insult against the gods but an error in judgement. The gods were very unforgiving of human mistakes. “Apollo took revenge on Midas for his poor taste and even poorer judgement” (Rosenberg and Baker 144). The gods usually carried the punishment out as soon as the crime was committed. They would not hesitate to use their powers to punish a mortal. It is the strong characteristic .....
