Personal Identity: Philosophical Views
<view this essay>.... identity is known as the body theory. This is
defined as a person X has a personal identity if and only if they have the same
body Y. However there are two problems with this definition. The first is
qualitative. It is necessary to have the same body, but if that body is changed,
is one the same person? Someone's body is surely different at age 40 than at
age 4. Also a problem arrives in alterations to a body. If John goes to war,
becomes injured by a mine, and then has his legs amputated is he not still the
same person, John? Therefore, the preceding definition of body theory is not
sufficient, since it does not account alterations to the same b .....

To Speed Or Not To Speed
<view this essay>.... a day to appear in court, if you choose to fight the ticket rather than pay the
fine. Waiting in the gloom of the sun-vanquished courtroom to see the judge can be very close to a death sentence. The wait is long, and the company can be frightening. Once you have plead your case, you generally end up paying the excessively large fine. This only leads to another line, and another wait. This has to be the most unpleasant part of a speeding ticket.
In addition, paying for traffic school is also a disagreeable experience. If you waited to see the judge, you may be on your way after paying the fine. If the judge is kind, and offers a traffic school option, the unpl .....

Description For The Existance
<view this essay>.... such discussions may have value and interest in the academic world, but the stress and pressure of day-to-day life forces us to deal with a very pragmatic way of making decisions. If I ask you to prove to me that you have $2.00, you would show it to me. Even in more abstract things we use common sense and practical reasoning. If I ask you whether a certain person is honest or not, you do not flood the air with dissertations on the relative nature of honesty; you would give me evidence one way or the other. The techniques of much of the philosophical arguments that go on would eliminate most of engineering and technology if they were applied in those fields. .....

Court Cases
<view this essay>.... is the second degree back on June 12, 1997. The judge was John Cataldo. He was sentenced as a second felony offender to concurrent terms of five years and one year respectively. It was a unanimous decision based on the law and facts to be convicted of attempted criminal trespass in the second degree and dismissing that count of the indictment.
The evidence was legally sufficient to support the defendant's conviction of attempted burglary in the second degree. The verdict was not against the weight of the evidence. The jury rejected the defendant's explanation for his conduct. They believed that he tried to enter the premises with criminal intent, .....

Moreover, American Indian, Hispanic, and Asian Americans now comprise about 5 percent of the enrollment, and international student enrollment have also maintained a fair 4 percent. The University of Tennessee at Knoxville should recognize the dynamic interaction of communities and cultures that comprise contemporary America, as well as the world. Reflecting on this interaction, the university should change its curriculum and campus environment because campus climates ultimately influence the effectiveness of a diverse democracy and, therefore builds a mutually respectfully com .....

Possible Origins Of The Vampire Legend: An Accidental Exploration Of The Human Psyche
<view this essay>.... seconds to several days. In times before there was widespread scientific knowledge, the sufferer could be buried alive, thought to be dead. When the victim "awoke" they would frantically try to escape their early grave, in the process getting their own blood on their hands from trying to claw their way out. This might also explain the accounts of corpses unearthed after several days to be found as if newly dead, because they were.
Corpses unearthed during the Black Death(Bubonic Plague), rooted firmly the ideas of bloodthirsty undead beings in the collective unconscious, especially since it was thought that vampires spread the disease. When people began t .....
