Renaisance
<view this essay>.... world was built around the nearest manor and most everyday activities had to do with a manor or castle. By the time of the Renaissance, towns in southern Europe had grown greatly in size. The wealthy people who lived in Renaissance society had more spare time and money than in the Middle Ages. This meant they could spend more time studying new ideas and had more money to truly patronise the arts.
The medieval view of the world was a look at the bad side of things: People thought of life as short and full of suffering. There was very little medieval art that didn't have a religious theme, and most art was made by hired artists for a church, to teach peopl .....

The Slave Trade
<view this essay>.... one must look beyond his or her own personal beliefs and look at how many peoples of different ethnic and social backgrounds tend to operate all over the world. It can be said that it this economic motive was the reason a sense of racism towards blacks was first unleashed.
Although many like to think that began with the Europeans capturing different tribesman of Africa and sending them to America, (as depicted in some modern day motion pictures), in reality had been carrying on many years before that. D-Day
<view this essay>.... I was frightened to death. The very idea of carrying out a night-time airborne landing of such a small force into the midst of the German army seemed to me to be little more than a suicide mission. Yet at the moment that the glider parted company with the ground I experienced an inexplicable change. The feeling of terror vanished and was replaced by exhilaration. I felt literally on top of the world. I remember thinking, 'you've had it chum, its no good worrying anymore - the die has been cast and what is to be, will be, and there is nothing you can do about it.' I sat back and enjoyed my first trip to Europe." Yet another rifleman who was carried to the b .....

Kansas & Nebraska Act Resolved
<view this essay>.... keep their slaves and not have to sell them. It would be good because the people who have the choice of it being a slave or free state could debate the situation and work out a decision that they all agreed on. Even though this would take a long period of time all the population would be happy with the decision.
The 36-30 degree parallel was unfair because that was the only land up for slavery. What if someone wanted to move above the 36-30 degree parallel? Would they have to leave their slaves behind and hire workers?
Also the federal government just marked off land that slaves could be in. Slaves are considered property and you can take property anywhere. T .....

The Protestant Reformation And Counter-Reformation
<view this essay>.... were not accepted.
By not accepting Luther's teachings, the Church had inadvertantly
encouraged its own decline. Since they did not kill Luther immediatly, he
was able to spread his "heresy," and, by the time the Church realized how
large a threat he was, it was too late. Luther had, in the 1520's started
the religion of Lutherism.
Lutherinism conflicted directly with the Church. It said that only two
sacraments were necessary: baptism and communion. This reduced would reduce
the power of Lutheran ministers and also save peasants money. This
encouraged peasant converts. This also encouraged lords and princes to
convert. They would convert to sieze th .....

Reconstruction
<view this essay>.... for the economic well-being of the South. The policies of these lawmakers resulted in the reduced size of plantations in the South. Some plantation owners sold off their surplus land, but most preferred to try a plan of sharecropping, with tenants who were unable to pay for the land in cash. Blacks never got “40 acres and a mule” talked about by Thaddeus Stevens and other radicals. The plantations owned by 70,000 “chief rebels” were never seized and redistributed. Instead, sharecropping and tenant farming developed and, as a result, blacks were still tied to the land. In addition, the Southern economy had not escaped from control by Northern financiers, as e .....

The Spanish king at the time Alfonso XIII, encouraged the use of
concentration camps for revolutionaries caught in battle. The Cuban
Revolution became extremely bloody due to the use of Guerrilla warfare.

The model that is presented can be particularly useful when comparing cultures because one of the hardest aspects of comparing different cultures is the fact that there are no common grounds to judge the different cultures.
