This was a significant departure from the mentality of the press the day Kennedy was assassinated and his alleged assassin incredibly unprotected and gunned down two days later. The country had changed significantly by the early seventies. The passive public was not quite so willing to be blindly led anymore. The press was now activist in nature. Decade by decade Cleveland grew, becoming more of a populated city then others. Just 40 years after being the 45th largest city in the nation it was the 12th. When the 20th century came around Cleveland was proud to be the 7th largest city in the nation with 381,768 people. Although Cleveland never became the largest city in the nation, the closest they got was 5th with 900,429 people. The vogue was to have fourth, fifth and even sixth children. Although this was not the case for all women some decided to remain in the work force, although they were not given equal pay as men. Other changes in family roles were that men were taking up jobs which were considered to be only for women such as. Flight attendants, secretaries and nurses. Furthermore in the 1950s there was an increase in teenage delinquency, due to the fact that teenagers were trying to find ways .....

.... was the North versus the South constantly trying to compromise political power. They were trying to figure out a way to keep the power in Congress between the slave states and the free states equal. The Missouri Compromise and the Kansas-Nebraska Act are two great examples of the long list of compromises the two sides have tried to come to. The compromises continued but to no avail, the subject of who had the final say involving slavery was one that had to be defined clearly, and this could not be compromised. Another struggle was between the Blacks (with few white Northerners on their side) and the Southern slave owners. The Southerners claimed that they .....

On Memi's left shoulder there is a small remnant of rust color paint that was probably the skin color used for his whole body. Black paint is also visible on the lower portion of Memi's hair, especially along the tips closest to his shoulders. All other paint on the statue seems to have deteriorated over the years. The hieroglyphs along the bottom of the stone slab label this work of historical art with representations of birds and plants. The representation of nature in Egyptian artwork is very common during the Old Kingdom time period. The overall statue remains fairly intact sufferin .....
